Chortens at Thiksey Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is another picture from my recent visit to Leh. This row of small chortens looked beautiful while climbing stairs going to the top of the Thiksey Monestary.
To know more about Thiksey monestary which is one of the most beautiful in this area, please look at some pictures I posted earlier.

Hey Hemant,

A fine display of the architecture of the region. Typically Lehish I`d say. A fine perspective and colors. The "stick" thing is a bit bothersome though, but it`s also a part of the whole ambient.
I`m starting to feel sorry I didnt take you up on your offer last year, to come along. :)

Hello Hemant,
I like this composition very much. The colourful chortens are quite striking, especially against the rather grey background. You have chosen a POV that creates a very good depth in the picture. I remember with great pleasure the day I spent at Thiksey and Shey long ago, walking through the valley between the monasteries.

It is interesting to look at your camera settings for this image which has a pleasant luminosity contrasting well with the moody sky. A fine perspective along the red/golden chortens adding distance to the mountains...
