Photographer’s Note

En passant dans le parc du Mercantour nous avons croisé cette montagne avec ces nuages qui l' entouraient complètement, nous avons patienté et j' ai pris cette photo qui me semblait superbe, qu' en pensez vous? mon problème, je ne me souvient plus de son nom !.Si les spécialistes des montagnes la reconnaisse ainsi déguisée,peuvent ils me donner son nom.

While passing in the park of Mercantour we crossed this mountain with these clouds which l' surrounded completely, we had patience and j' took this photograph which seemed to me superb, qu' in think? my problem, I does not remember any more its name!.
If the specialists in the mountains recognizes it thus disguised, can they give me its name. Thank you d' advances.

je ne pourrais pas t'aider sur le nom de la montagne mais je pourrais juste te dire que j'aime bien l'image. Belle ambiance et belle utilisation de la lumière (pas facile).

immagine davvero impressionante.
Nella miniatura sembrava in black & white, invece vedo che è a colori. Pochi, ma ci sono.
La nebbia tra le cime, gioca un bell'effetto grafico.

Je sèche sur le nom de la montagne mais par contre je trouve ton image très réussie.
La lumière sur cette percée et l'environnement de brume et de nuages qui se détache de ces roches noires est magnifique.

Hi Thomas,

indeed the dark cloud formation is most dramatic, in moments suffocating.
It feels like it is gonna swallow the mountain and all what surrounds it.
Destaurated appearance of the greenry adds to very darken and moody atmophere.
It is fantastic!
However, I do not know which mountain is...so I will not be very usual in this department.

Hi Thomas,
Impressive, darkish view of that mountain. Thick looking clouds make a good combination with sharp rock edges and eroded gravel on the lower regions. I like those simple colours.

Photo a l'ambiance particulière.
Je ne saurais dire, et incapable de donner une critique, mais cette photo me plait. C'est peut être ce que l'on appelle l'art, faite et percue par des artistes.

C'est plutôt rare de croiser une montagne. J'aimerais bien en croiser des semblables de temps en temps. Vraiment une très belle image, où l'aspect magnifique, mais austère, sinistre et gris de la montagne est tempéré par les ondulations boisées et sobrement colorées. Félicitations.

Hi Thomas,

In September I discovered how changing and fascinating the clouds can play with the mountain. Every moment a new interesting view. The slopes raising out of the clouds or the clouds climbing against the mountain in always changing patterns.

Comme j'ai un penchant pour les photos sombres avec beaucoup d'ambiance, je dois ajouter celle-ci à mes favorites. Je ne sais pas vous avez finalement trouvé le nom de cette montagne... sinon il reste l'option de vérifié sur une carte topographique. J'ai tenté de retracer sur google maps cette montagne, mais à ma grande surprise j'ai remarque que le parc du Mercantour était vraiment très grand, et je n'ai pas été capable de retracer cette montagne. Dans un futur rapproché avec tous les gadget gps, ce genre de problème sera plus facile à résoudre.

impressonnante cette chaine de montagne et ses glacier qui s'y collent.
Ce phénomène d'écharpe autour des montagnes, je le connais bien, je l'ai souvent vu en Suisse.
Une petit manque de couleurs pour uen photo 'couleurs', hihi.

this is quite a mysterious photo which is as if taken in a land of fairy-tales... or perhaps on a distant mysterious planet which looks like the Earth. I think it is because of the colours and, of course, because of the clouds! I like the way the clouds are cloaking the mountain which looks unreachable.. something like a mirage. This is a photo which has a special mood, a mysterious and a little cold mood.

the mighty cloud/fog around the dark mount produce a dramatic atmosphere. The fact that the picture is almost B/W enhances the effect.
