Photographer’s Note
Am I hallucinating..?
In the middle of nowhere - Mojave Desert...
An incredible exhibition of art that spurns any description. Apostles' togas burnt to the whiter shade of pale by merciless desert's sun. Their arms wide open welcomes you to the land of silence.
Great Leonardo DaVee himself couldn't possibly come up with something of a more grotesque scenery for his Last Supper than this...
And, all of this to amuse those very few among us, who took the side road of journeying, instead of the comfortable, cushy highways.
Who has committed this staggering visual art in the emptiness of Nevada?
Albert Szukalski was his name.
Born in Nazi concentration camp (?) 1945 - Poland.
Died still young - Belgium 2000.
His heart couldn't manage his passion any longer.

This version is my favorite one, rather than the one posted originally in Feb.2006. No longer interested in posting some kind of registration fotkas.. Neat, clean, empty and boring beyond description. There is enough of them on TE already and they are so easy to find… Look under: Photos with 100 -300 points each.
…………………………….
Dedicated to those who raised the hell on TE - recently…
Who screamed their hearts out…
To those who cared… For those with guts… For those with love...
………………………………
With the bit of luck - you may find your very own, original critique to this post right here… Just copy and paste…

Jurek !!!
Ja halucynacji dostaje...
Niemozliwe, znikasz i...pojawiasz sie jak duch !!!
Piekna kompozycja, Polonezowo-Traczewska.

Really astonishing view. Interesting perspective and quite incredible scenery. Photo tight connected with note. Regards.
Dziś ono już nie jest connected. Ale się wszystko popier****ło.
Ale dobrze... Jeżeli stary rok kończy się jednak mimo wszystko jakimś choćby malutkim maluteńkim, pyciutkim elementem pozytywnym, to już jest powód do radości...
Ściskam, nalewam łiskacza, mogę świętować...

Hey, George!
Good to see you back and re)post again! And don't ya worry, you're anything BUT boring.
Spooky, abomination-like presentation; 'nowhere'? you've got it... 'empty' (as in mood)? - you've got it... the year of his parting? - you've got it, again... an excellent presentation, George!
Happy 2009 to You and Yours!
And may the coming year be full of Polonaise'ian smiling ineffictivity! ;))
Cheers,

GREAT !
Thanks to Grazyna and the TrekEarth Forum Message Alert by mail, I was duely alerted...
One can read "Resurrection" in the frame - so happy that you are coming back with this photo that is very appropriate and so atmospheric ! I had not seen the original as there are were so many photos in your gallery (was it the very first one ? reading Claire's critique... ??)
Great and powerful "grainy and dirty" photo, hoping that all your other ones will be resurrected as well !
With admiration for your resilience and determination,
Welcome back and Happy New Year dear George !!!

Hey G...
Nice to see you back. It certainly is a rather ghoulish image, pretty appropriate I would say... Unique as always - and thankfully far from the 'pleasant' shiny waxie-schmaxy LOL!!
May you have a fantastic New Year's and I hope 2009 is good for you.
All the best, Casper

Well, George, YOU cared, and YOU have guts, so I guess your photo is partly dedicated to yourself! As well it should be, because it's clearly in your unique style, appealing to the gut as much as the eye.
On the link you provided, there is Claire's 2006 critique where she wrote, "I don't know yet if you will be a "Master" here on TE..." Well, now we know.
Happy New Year, George--hope you get a New Years present of your other 500 or so photos, back here uncorrupted. Much as you are back here, uncorrupted by the "waxy schmaxy" or anything else.
Regards, Ken.

Witaj,
No to zaczynasz od zera;-) Świat zwariował. Cieszę się, że wróciłeś. Powinieneś jak najszybciej nadrobić "błędy i wypaczenia"(wiadomo czyje...)
To przejmująca prapremiera.
Pozdrawiam

...31 of December...
A good day for a comeback.
A comeback with ghosts.
Ghosts from the bad days.
...or from the good days?
You know better.
Welcome buddy.
I'm happy you are back again.
Happy new year.

Dear George,
Allow me to give you a big hug...and welcome you back! And how...Albert Szukalski spent most of his life here in Antwerp. He got his first exhibition in this town was when he was only 17. In fact he died just around the corner from where I live (though I don't remember, was living abroad at the time)... Wow!
I'll put a flower on his grave for you.
Bless you.

Hi George,
welcome back ..
the grain and contrast give this piece such power and thought .. the balance between the sky and figures is really wonderful ... striking sense of almost emptiness .. merry new year ...
take care,

Hi George, & Welcome back!
I like the grain effect, which enhances the mood. Good use of the principle of 3, even if the 'ghosts' either side, are really 'dual' sculptures. Happy New Year to you!

Hello George,
Very nice, but I see a lot of grain. I think you need NeatImage. Maybe a bit too centred.
You do realize I am full of the merde, of course.
It's about time. I was making myself sick of my waiting theme, It got progressively worse.

i don't do 'dirty' but can appreciate it, glad to see you are back
I don't remember this POV, but remember Apostles 2 on TL, well, this frontal and centred version is very interesting with that landscape in BG
i miss some of your photos that i was sometimes coming back in your gallery to watch them again... i guess you'll upload them once again

Hi, George -
Welcome back!
I think of this more as Rodin, sort of a cross between the Burghers of Calais and the Gates of Hell. Leonardo doesn't really deal in ghosts the same way.
Happy new year,

My dear friend,
First of all, the most gorgeous happy New Year for you.
You cannot imagine the joy of seeing your photos again here on TE after all that happened. I will no longer discuss it here because you know exactely how I feel.
To your beautiful picture, I believe this was your first one from the removed gallery. I praise your attitude to stay and do it all over again. Great photo with your unique delightful grain.
We will beat them....whoever they are!
Great to have you back.

Hey George and welcome back!
I haven't seen the other post from 3 yrs ago. And I was
almost shocked when I saw this one. Bizarre, but punchy
and makes me search to find more about the exhibition.
Like the tonal grittyness - matches the weather over here!
;-D

Hello George,
Glad you restart again with an artwork,Welcome Back !
Like the black and white medium here and its grainy result that you reached it perfectly.
awesome subject but skilfully made by the artist.
nicely worked and Thanks for posting it.
Hope the year 2009 be better than 2008 !

Hi George,
Re-born in 2009?!!! Strange situation... I still do not understand how this has happened but, hey, you are back and this gives us the opportunity to look back to your entire gallery...
One of the few reasons for me to return here from time to time is your own presence, your excellent images and your sharp and intelligent critiques... what else can I say?
Have a great 2009 and keep us enjoying of the amazing "polonaisque world"...
Take care my dear friend.
