Photographer’s Note

Hello in the New Year :)
This was my last and one of the sporadic trip last year on the Slupia river. At last I forced myself to go out of the house and catch this last view of the Sun in the passing year.
I dedicate it to all friend I`ll no more meet, with hope they can admire many beautiful views...

Hi Henryk,

Lovely New Year's wish mate...

Strong feeling of cold in this image for me. The minimal color palette, the thin layer of frost, the ground fog, everything imparts a feeling that makes me want to go and get a fire going in the fireplace. What is the small red thing at the lower right third? It doesn't quite look like a sensor hot spot but I can't tell really.

A truly wonderful view - and a very atmospheric one. The only few colours give a very special impression - one nearly can feel cold here. I like this one very much!

How nice to see you again, Henryk. The sun doesn't stop you from daring to shot directly into its heart without burning all this view. It's a fresh one, but it's already from last year :))) The frost tells me it's too cold to be outside but I'm glad you did it. Nice landing strip for ducks.

fantastic the way you used the light here, texture in the left side and the waters shining in the central part are fabulous, the natural scenery is another beautiful thing to see, shown so softly. well done

The last sunset of year 2008 is sure a historic event, but also, as your picture shows, rather beautiful one. I like the delicate sun light above the frozen winter scenery. Very well done!

You master the light so well on these early frosty mornings. I particularly like the sheen on the iced ground and the frost on the leaves. I hope your note doesn't mean you will no more be on TE!

Happy New Year Henryk,
There is a great atmosphere with this image as the frost lays across the ground and the sun is setting. A definate winter scene that brings hope into the New Year for much better weather and all things good.

Witaj już w Nowym Roku,

rzadko tu gościsz. Tytuł wieloznaczny - ostatni zachód w 2008 roku, zdjecie zrobiłes w Sylwestra, albo masz dość zachodów i nie będziesz ich wysyłał więcej na TE, albo niestety niektórzy przyjaciele już nie ujrzą więcej zachodu słońca.. . Ta nostalgiczna atmosfera sugeruje trzecią mozliwość. Tak się smutno zakończył ten rok na TE. Masz przyjemnie, że takie widoki możesz podziwiać niedaleko domu. ladnie wygląda Słupia częściowo zamarznięta, fajny szron na uschniętych trawach, piekny kolor nieba.

Wszelkiej pomyslności w Nowym Roku życzę

Bardzo mi ten pejzaż pasuje klimatycznie na ten niezbyt wesoło zapowiadajacy się Nowy Rok. Piękny jest i smuteczkiem takim wieje :)

What a beautiful tranquil landscape!
Great balanced contrast in the difficult back-light circumstances.
The soon vanishing sun is trying to warm the cold landscape in vain. Great symbolic for a year that has come to its end.

Bonjour Henryk,
une région assez désolée dirait-on, mais c'est là qu'on aime souvent se ressourcer, prendre du recul avec la civilisation quand on en a besoin. Cette photo m'inspire ce genre de mometn que souvent je recherche.
Et même si il fait froid, l'ambiance est magnifique.

This is a fine capture of the effects of backlight playing with the icy surface!
