Photographer’s Note
This is a photo of a fun fair ride. The fun fair is set up Plymouth Hoe. The Hoe is an area of Plymouth that overlooks Plymouth sound.
To explain the words. Hoe is a word that comes from the Anglo Saxon meaning a sloping ridge shaped like an inverted foot and heel ( I didn't invent it)
Sound as in Plymouth Sound comes from the old Norse word 'sund' -swimming strait, a narrow stretch of water forming an inlet.
And Plymouth is the- mouth of the river Plym. Plymouth, where the river Plym goes into the sea.
Anyway, fun fairs provide an exciting and colourful venue for photographers. More fun fair pictures to come as the days go by.

Hi Mike,
This is a fun shot. Lots of stuff in there to try to organize but the movement and color is fabulous for me. Good choice to get this during the blue hour so that the sky wasn't solid black. It makes for a much more interesting image.
Cheers and Happy New Year!

Hello Mike,
You captured the atmosphere and the movement very well. Bright colours against a dark blue sky. Well done.

Hi Mike,
Absolurely superb image....very creative and just the right mix of blur and clarity. The image is eye-catching, full of colour and action. The moving ride is balanced nicely by the perfectly clear signboard, in the background, and by the man standing on the left. Very well done in difficult lighting conditions. Very well done.
Cheers Grant

The movement is very nicely composed into the picture and blue hour makes the background very interesting.
The guy is not pretty though, which is a contrast to the persons on the top right..

Hi Mike,
I'm not going to tell you what "hoe" in American street vernacular is. :).
I like that you did this with motion, instead of a completely blurred, static looking image.
Are fun fairs for adults? the billboard advertising this ride is rather risque. Quite hoe-ish, as a matter of fact.

Hello Mike,
A very colorful action shot taken really at the best (Blur) hour. ) The slow motion gives dynamism, but I am not sure that the man on the left adds something. He is posted a bit out of the action. Did you have one picture without this guy.
My best wishes to you for 2009 - Izzet Keribar

Hello Mikey,
A bright, loud, dynamic shot. But who is this guy??! If he is part of the funfair show us his pouch of money! If he isn't, get him out!!
Notwithstanding, it is a dynamic shot. Who is ruling what??!

What a riot of colours ! This is pure joy... Splendid !
(The guy on the left seems a bit lost, funny !)
Would be interested to see the results coming out of your new camera !
Best,
C.

Hello Mike,
The dynamism in this picture is amazing. I think you have done well on the account of framing as well.
Thanks for sharing
