Ponta do Corumbau Photo

Photographer’s Note

The "Ponta do Corumbau" is located in the South East of Bahia, between Prado and Porto Seguro. In the local Indian language (Tupi-Guarani), Corumbau means "where the world ends and where the land starts". The Corumbau river has actually modelled a tip of sand of about 500 meters inside the sea (on the picture), which protects a long beach from the waves of Atlantic Ocean.

hello sebastien,
it is nice to know that it is warm in some part of the world. in this part of the world we usually wake up to -5,-10 degrees.
i like the simplicity of your shot. the color of the sky is eyecetching.

Great composition. This place must be beautiful, the clear sky, the shallow water, and the white sand.

The ship give a bit of proportions to this photo, attached to the beach and showing the wind...

Hi Sebastien,
Wonderful picture, of such well balanced graphism, in which the tension points, located in the left (beach) and right (boat) sixths of the frame, are peacefully separated by a placid and tepid sea. That kind of subject selection and thoughtful distancing between them gives all the charm to this elemental seascape. To complete the thoughtful composition, there’s yet another dyad, a diagonal one, between the sand, speckled with a texture of algae, and the right corner of the sky, texturized with some altocumuli. The light was not ideally tender, but you managed it pretty well. Congrats!!
