Photographer’s Note

The municipality of Ortisei asked the students of the local art school to create a series of ice sculptures for the pedestrian area with the theme "seatings". This train is in front of the St Anton church, just a few steps from my home.

I posted another view of the train as workshop.

Hallo Günther!
Toll! Aber Platz nehmen...?! Sitzkissen kann ich nicht erkennen. Eine wirklich einfallsreiche Skulptur - leider wird sie nicht sehr langlebig sein. Ein im Hinblick auf Schärfe, Kontrast und Belichtung schwieriges Fotoobjekt. du hast es aber gut gemeistert. Das WS-Foto stellt das Eis noch schöner dar, aber eben nur die Lok.
Grüße aus Westfalen, wo der Winter eine Pause macht!

Ciao Guenther. Un po' che non ci si sente ma vedo che sei sempre in formissima. Per questa grande contrasto e bei colori. Ottimo dettaglio sulla locomotiva blue ice.

la foto è molto bella e ben composta, peccato per l'abete sulla destra, distoglie un poco dal soggetto principale, quel magnifico treno di ghiaccio che, certamente, è possibile fotografare solo dalle tue parti.

Voilà une excellente initiative de la part de la municipalité. Je reste toujours admiratif devant ces sculpteurs sachant mettre leur talent pour des réalisations éphémères.

It is a wonderful talent to be able to make these ice sculptures, but so sad when they melt! This POV works well so we can also see the seats behind, although it was a good idea to post the WS so we could see the engine in more detail. The small red details also catch the eye.

na da haben sich die Studenten aber alle Mühe gegeben. Bitte einsteigen!
Im Vergleich zu dem Bild im Workshop, gefällt mir hier, dass der ganze Zug zu sehen ist und wie er nach hinten wegläuft. Gute Perspektive. Auch die Fotoqualität ist trotz der eher schwierigen Bedingungen sehr gut.
