Photographer’s Note
While I'm still surfing through the pictures I took in Versailles last Sunday, I decided to post this abstract approach that trasmites the mood I got as I arrived to the Park of the Castle of Versailles. 15min before this shot, it was rainning hail with strong wind and I thought it was impossible to make the visit. Luckily, it stopped suddenly and I had the pleasure to meet with Jean Charles (JCG) that was very kind to guide us through the Park, showing us the "Hameau de la Reine" in the compounds of Marie-Antoinette. The place is huge and it surprised me that it took aproximately 1h to get there from the Castle. When we arrived there, the sun was already showing up which was great.
This was taken while walking through the long avenues with the very tall trees that have perfect ortogonal shapes. It intrigued me how they could reach so high to cut so perfectly the trees both on the sides and on the top. You can see in this recent post of Jean Charles how high these paralelepiped trees can be.
WS1 - color version - couldn't decide which one to post but since today I'm daring...
WS2 - A more normal view with a runner, very common to see in this Park.

Hi Ricardo,
Very stylish. I wonder if such perfectly cut trees can be found anywhere else. And corner to corner framing is brilliant. Even sky with small details on clouds fits well with tree branches. B&W is the right choice I think.

Difficult to decide between this & the original, but I would be inclined towards this because of the stronger impact. It's a graphic picture after all & hence shorn of the blue, this looks good here. Neat diagonal compo here. Compositionally excellent as is your idea. Good work my friend. Are you shooting in Auto mode or in Aperture Priority mode?
Best Regards

Hi Ricardo,
We have good hairdressers in Versailles, Isn't it !!! And today these poor trees with the wind which we have… and the rain, they go moved much… A beautiful use of the diagonal here and I like much the treatment which adds an atmosphere of mystery to the image and emphasizes well the silhouette of the trees. I prefer this one with the color. Indeed the runners are numerous, especially in shone upon period, and it is always better to listen to music moreover… In spite of the lack of luminosity, I like the natural colors.
I am in a hurry to see the following ones !!! Thank you Ricardo for the link on my penultimate photograph. It was a true pleasure of walking me in your company.
With all my friendships to you like to Ana and a very good day,

Moving up the branches of the tree.I move towards hypnosis, which branches from the base and extends slightly above... I try to find a nest among these branches, but it is too late , I've been hypnotized in my head.
Fascinating diagonal composition with fantastic light and wonderful warm colors.
Parabens Ric and um abraço,

The branches of the trees have been cut so precisely that on the thumbnail I thought you had put two images together. Very creative framing with a perfect corner to corner diagonal. Good thinking! Unsurprisingly I prefer the colour version. In actual fact is is duotone anyway but I prefer the blue to the beige.
Good to have you back!

lindo trabalho

Hi Ricardo,
Almost art, and something i seldom see but captured by you in a really excellent way. Of course it's also the colour toning here what makes it interesting because the original is less powerful, but it's also the overal composition a avery strong diagonal line what makes this one stands out...perfect work.

this is the best of the 3 shots because unusual, and color adds nothing (morover the blue sky is in opposition with your comments). 2 pictures in one separated by a diagonal line: clouds and perfectly cut trees.

Hi Ricardo,
Beautiful tone .. The diagonal is stunning .. pulls you to this image even from a wall of thumbnails .. the sharpness of the trees is great .. but on the very bottom left I sense a tiny bit of "halo" on the treetops as they meet the sky .. this has a wonderful mood the strong line of the sharp trees against the swirling distant sky .. draped in this tone .. wonderful ... definitely the right version .. take care, John

Josep
