Photographer’s Note
Bhainsrorgarh or Bhainsror is an ancient fort that has become a major tourist spot in the state of Rajasthan, India. The famous British historian Colonel James Tod said, after seeing the splendid and mesmerizing beauty of Bhainsrorgarh, that if he was offered a Jagir (fiefdom) and given an option to choose it anywhere in Rajasthan, he would choose Bhainsrorgarh.
Bhainsrorgarh is located 50 Km from Kota & the journey along the road takes 1 hour. Bhainsrorgarh is an impregnable fort, inhabited from at least the 2nd century BC. The present fort (part of which you can see roughly in the centre of the frame) is around 260 years old and was built around 1750. It is dramatically positioned on the bank of the Chambal River & has now been converted into a 5 bed room luxury hotel. The lone boat sums up the tranquility of the place.
3 years, 445 posts, that's my 'mileage' in TE as of today.
I had joined this site with the idea of knowing more about the world, and also to improve my photographic skills. I do not know if I have made any improvements as a photographer in this three year journey...you are the best judge, but the fact is, I get great joy in sharing photographs with you all, made friends in the way, some of whom I’ve had the privilege to meet in person. The sad part is, a lot of excellent & talented photographers have left this site over the last one year, but still there’s a lot of talent, both old & new on display here, from whose pictures, I learn almost every day. On my part I try to share with you pictures from various parts of my country, India & also showcase the places less traveled. This is the first picture of Bhainsorgarh in TE (unless somebody had posted a shot earlier with an incorrect location).
I take this opportunity to thank every one in this community for sharing such wonderful pictures from every parts of our beautiful planet. Seeing your pictures has indeed been an enlightening experience for me. A special thanks to those, who have taken time & efforts to comment or critique my pictures, helping me in my quest to improve my photography and knowledge.

Hi Angshu,
what a great idea to present this treasure so beautifully captured. The light and the blue colors are wonderful. I also like the reflections and - of course - the little boat.
I fully understand your concerns about the members that have left TE, and I am afraid that the site has become too crowded. But anyway it is a pleasure for me to learn not only about the world but especially about India that is a very spectacular place on our planet. Your contributions are highly appreciated.
I wish you further inspiration! Thanks for everything!
Warm regards

Hello Angshuman! What a smart composition of a great photographer! Yes some have left and sometimes I have fears when people don't show up for a while that they will never return again but sometimes they do and this feels good and makes my heart jump a little bit.
This is a fantastic post showing all your talents. Very well chosen the little bit of land with the boat on the side which makes the picture work so well. What a beautiful region! Best regards, Barbara.

Congratulations Angshu for your 3 year anniversary. There is one thing I can say with truth and that is you have given back as much - maybe more in some instances - as you have received, with your constant posts of places some of us had never heard about, and also your unique view of more visited locations. Your images are of high quality and you always accompany your posts with an excellent note, which I consider important for the mission of this site. Your critiques are always thoughtful and you show interest with your questions.
This is another beauty you present to us today, taken in excellent light and with stunning reflections. Also of interest in the scene is the tiny boat moored on the left.
Let's hope we are both still here in another 3 years! ;D

Hello Angshu,
Your biggest step was to buy a real DSLR with more and more control over the subjects and a much better colour management control when shooting raw files. You showed me this one before and i was surprised how fast you get the touch to control Lightroom in preparing the raw files for display. The blue toning here is wonderful in the water, but also a great gradient in the sky. That little boat on the bottom left corner gives a very nice balance in the photo and makes this one very pleasant to look at.
Congratulations, after three years big improvements...

Three years on TE and 445 posts....and I've just discovered your beautiful gallery Angshuman...how come? Anyhow that's part of TE's good sides...the fact of stumbling upon cool photographers. Well now, the picture is interesting as well. A good reflection and a small craft at the bottom left-hand corner to introduce the viewer to the rest.
Well anyhow, all the best and see you soon, definitely.

Hello Angshu,
Very nice framing and composition. The size of the river is providing a good deepness to the shot and in the same time, the feeling of empty is fighted by the boat in the corner.
Nice also this sky without clouds, totally blue and taking in sandwich the golden cliff with also a full blue river.
Very well done,
Yves.

Olá Angshu, almost 150 posts a year...I'm far from that average now. 'Tranquility' is indeed the word that best describes the mood here. The beauty is imense and the best detail for me is the way you placed the boat on the corner pointing to the cliff and fort. I can also see the people on the beach even if too tiny to have relevance in the whole scenery. Congratulations for the third annyversary and keep surprising me - I truly think you've been improving a lot lately, more than me actually ;-)

Hi Angshuman,
The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The presence of the small boat has an effect of scale. The point of view leads our eyes toward the opposite shore and to the mountain in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The nice blue sky is sending a light which is enhancing the colors. Well done, have a nice day.

Hi Angshuman,
You also celebrate 3 years in TE, like me several weeks ago. Congratulations my friend!!
Your gallery is fantastic, and especially your photos of your country have done a great work in order that we know it better, so much in its landscapes, like in its architecture, in its daily life and in its traditions.
And this anniversary photo demonstrates it, is excellent, has a good setting with a wide angle, a nice diagonal and an elegant perspective.
I like the deep landscape and its reflections on the water, and also the great light and the beautiful colors that you have obtained.
I wish you many more years sharing your photos here.
Best regards,

Dear Angshuman,
Congratulations! You have been India's flagbearer on this site. While many others have failed to keep up with the 'routine', you have been an exception in this regard.
If I were to make an honest evaluation of your work on TE, this is what I would say : I do not like each and every picture you post. Maybe I like 60% of them and for the rest 40%, I would wonder, now why did Angshuman had to post this, knowing fully well the virtual treasure house of photographs that you have in store. But then having watched your postings over the years, I have come to realise that you do not post photos which clamour for points. Instead you are always open to criticism, always willing to learn and experiment. Some of us are too lazy to do that:) I am no longer a regular on this site, but having been here for almost three years, I feel that you have been one of the most improved Indian photographers on TE. While architectural photographs still remain your forte, you have opened up new vistas. You have worked hard to improve your post processing skills having realised it is not enough to take a good photograph, but to catch the eyeballs, 'packaging' is a must. I have also felt that you genuinely believe in promoting our country and its people in the best manner possible. Your accompanying notes are a lesson for any newcomer. Flagbearer and a great ambassador for our beautiful country - Keep up the good work.
As for the accompanying image, I had the privilge of a sneak preview and expressed my appreciation. I once again applaud a perfect picture postcard and your effort to promote this largely unknown place.
Best Wishes
Sabyasachi

Bonjour Angshu
A good choice of image to celebrate your 3 years spent on TE ;)
What caught first my attention is the luminosity, the position of the fort perched on the cliffs and its reflection...I would not mind to take the small boat, here providing a good balance, to go on the other side of the river. The peaceful atmosphere is very well conveyed.
Thanks for the note as well!
I wish you plenty more photos...

apt title, "tranquility" is the first thing that comes to mind looking and this shot. I especially like the boat in the lower left corner, it's a little accent, but adds so much to the scene. excellent work, I like it.
