Photographer’s Note

Even though winter here in my city takes a break, it is in full activity on the heigths of the nearby Westerwald, a low mountain region up to 600 meters. Please see my photo of yesterday.

After a night of fog and frost up to -6°C last weekend this broom bush was littered with thousands of tiny ici thorns. When coming back from our hike 2 hours later sun had made it a "normal" broom bush again ...

Bonjour Frank.
Le cadrage serré attire l'attention sur les merveilles de la nature. Une nuit froide et pleine de brouillard arrive à laisser sur les plantes de belles parures de glace.

Olá Frank, splendid close approach showing the spiny look of the hoarfrost. It's actually nice to see from where this almost abstract detail of nature came from, after seeing the yesterday's wonderful perspective.

These brambles of a new species are superb. This macro image is well rélisée with the blur of background which is appropriate. Beautiful light, good clearness. It is very well seen. Congratulations.

Hi Frank,
Exceptionally well formed spiky looking frost. Well worth a closeup. Yes, you don't usually have much time for a good shot. That view usually disappears pretty soon after sun starts shining.

Hello Frank,
The nature delivers to us unceasingly emotions. We think, that we can invent most stranger shapes and fashion. Afterwards it proves, that the nature long ago already this created. That is so with the shape of snow-flakes, with needles of the hoar-frost and with ice- growths. Decides here temperature, the moisture, the pressure and the privileged nucleation. All these secrets are in this picture, in these ice- needles on delicate twigs of the shrub. The photo in workshop is yet more beautiful!

Hallo Frank,
nicht schlecht, muss ich sagen. Endlich siehst Du den Vorteil einer DSLR Kamera, mit Deinem alten Libling hättest Du nämlich nicht diese kurze Schärfentiefe erreichen können. (Besonders gut ist der Effekt an mitteldunklen Teilen.) Dazu das richtige Seitenlicht - gut gelungen!
