Photographer’s Note

Segunda toma de la selva de rascacielos. Desde un punto de vista un poco diferente a la foto anterior, aquí desde la Bahía del Hudson, y con un día espléndido, podemos ver el conjunto de magníficos edificios del Financial District en el Bajo Manhattan.

El cielo estaba muy bonito, y en el encuadre quise darle mucho protagonismo siguiendo la regla de los tercios.

Cuando miro las fotos tomadas durante mi segundo viaje a la Gran Manzana, aún me sorprende la calidad de imagen de mi pequeña compacta Sony.

The second capture of the skyscraper’s forest. From a point of view a little different from the previous photo, here from the Hudson Bay, and with a splendid day, we can see the set of magnificent buildings of the Financial District in Lower Manhattan.

The sky was very nice, and in the framing I wanted to give it a lot of leading role following the rule of the thirds.

When I look at the photos taken during my second trip to the Big Apple, I still surprise the quality of image of my small compact Sony.

This is New York, friends.

Hi Josep,
Beautiful cityscape.
The skyscrapers look brilliant from this angle.
The extra bit of sky works very well. the skyscrapers look very small compared to the vast sky.

Hi, Josep -

The rule of thirds is, like most rules, meant to be broken. Here, for example, it looks more like you followed the rule of fourths! Which is fine - the sky definitely deserves the attention, and in fact it gives the size of the buildings more emphasis than a different balance would have done. Very crisp and clear, too. A good selection of Manhattan's "forest" - though we who have lived there are more likely to call it "Manhattan canyon."

Effectivement la qualité est bien présente ici, j'aime beaucoup la finesse et la netteté de l'image. Cet ensemble de buildings est agréablement mis en valeur par cette douce lumière et ce beau ciel donne une effet 3D très agréable. Une belle composition, bravo Josep.

Your small camera has done an excellent job. The light is good and the sharpness very good. The fading jet trail is also a good feature in the sky.

La verdad mi querido amigo Josep que cuando estoy tomando una foto no pienso en las reglas de los 2/3 o 1/3, sencillamente las tomo tratando que el objeto principal no este en el medio de la foto, quizás por eso es que soy tan mal fotógrafo. Tu foto tiene una nitidez de los rascacielos muy buena, con una iluminacion estupenda y una excelente definicion(foco). El cielo es impresionante. Muy buenos colores y la captaste desde un magnifico POV. Felicitaciones.

Toujours très impressionnante cette vue sur Manhattan. Un travil très soigné avec un bon cadrage et une superbe netteté. J'aime ton idée de réserver une place importante au ciel, cela donne un effet un peu inhabituel et très réussi à cette vue.

The jungle below & the almost clear blue sky above...what a contrast! The tip of the tallest building is roughly at one-third the height of the picture. Amidst all the verticals the diagonal jet trail stands out. Good work my friend!

Bela foto com o famoso conjunto de arranha céus de Manhattan a dominar totalmente o terço inferior da foto enquanto o bonito céu daquele dia preenche o restante.
A foto apresenta uma luz lateral muito bonita que ainda provoca um efeito tridimensional nos edificios através do jogo de luz e sombras.

Your Skyscrapers look great and sharp, like mountains raising above the metropolis. Very nice color hus and good DOF. I like the picture even I'm not a great fan of the U.S, but these scene looks very interesting. Well done
