Photographer’s Note

Underway, from Calvi to Ajaccio, we stopped many time to admire the Calanche de Piana in the Golfe de Girolata, being part of Natural Reserve of Scandola

Text from website of UNESCO:
"La réserve, qui fait partie du parc naturel régional de Corse, occupe la presqu'île de la Scandola, impressionnant massif de porphyre aux formes tourmentées. Sa végétation est un remarquable exemple de maquis. On y trouve des goélands, des cormorans et des aigles de mer. Les eaux transparentes, aux îlots et aux grottes inaccessibles, abritent une riche vie marine."

Very good depth and colours for this shot showing us one of the most beatiful places in Corse. The Calanca pictured in foreground grants good depth to the compostion.

Une vue très célèbre , mais parfaitement réalisée . Les jolis nuages , qui prennent la même forme que la pointe montagneuse s'avançant dans la mer , sont un plus pour la photo . Belle profondeur et couleurs très naturelles .

Salut Viviane
Tu as bénéficié d'une meilleure lumière que nous lors de notre visite en 2006. Peut-être c'est le fait que la lumière est plus douce en automne qu'en été. Le rocher à droite crée un point focal fort et est bien équilibré avec la pointe au fond. Le contraste et différence de nettété entre les deux est agréable aussi.

Je ne connais pas du tout cette région et je suis captivé par la beauté sauvage de ces lieux.
Ces roches au premier plan apportent un plus à cette splendide composition.

Superb impression of a very hot sunny day. The sharp foreground, the shadows on the rocks and the hazy background make me almost feel I am there.

I was already happy to see such beautiful scenery in a composition with natural colors and lighting. I'm happier now to know there was not hard post processing to get that. It's a real pleasant seen, very well done!
