Photographer’s Note
This building (or better to say, this erection) was constructed in the late 80-s, in the last Soviet Union’s years. Some people tend to consider it as a striking example of socialist realism or symbolic constructivism style in architecture, because at least one element of its design looks like a symbol. I do not think so. I know that the strangely looking part of this architectural complex simply is an astronomical observatory. The whole complex is a juniors’ creativity center. Another cylindrically shaped piece of art is a statue of Mikhail Lomonosov.
Thus, there are no grounds for blaming the building for some bad symbolism. However, the observatory surely has a chance to be the winner or in the top list of this interesting contest.

Hello Sergiy,
I like the contrast between the style of the building and the fantaisy of the coloured vehicle. The colours of this vehicle arise very well in the image. A good POV very well selectd too give an interetsing prospect effect.
Best regards,
Roger

Hello Sergiy,
This architecture could make smile, but it is particularly serious and functional. Excel work which joins together the Father Christmas, stars and Science. The realization is very good, with a framing diagonal and excellent natural colors. Cheer.
Have a nice day

Hello Sergiy, Strange building but if we say that it was constructed with a view of being modern that may explain it, I like the inclusion of the well placed train in FG adding colour, I can also see the Christmas tree is still up, reading about Mikhail Lomonosov it looks to be a very good & appropriate choice to have a scientist& among other things a poet outside an Observatory. Interesting note.
Thank you

Hi Sergiy. Nice architecture and really unusual (I guess that we have in Portugal one candidate to that contest. The detail of the vehicle (I have a picture with a similar one) and great colors. Good clarity and sharpness and great 'color' of the snow. Well done. Greetings. Paulo

Hi Sergiy,
A fine and interesting combination of the concrete building and the tourist train with Santa Claus (?) as driver. There are good colours in the train and also something red at the building. Maybe this tower will be the winner of that contest...
Kind regards

Hello Sergiy,
The unique architecture is offset by the colorful tram in the spirit of Xmas.
Good composition and humor,
Ray
PS: Your erection narrative reminded me of a large pinnacle within Calif's Joshua Tree Mounument resembling a penis. The U.S. Park experts blew it up (with explosives) just in case some idiot was offended. Sometimes our U.S. Park Service zealots forget what they are suppose to be protecting.

Bonjour, cher Sergiy,

Ciao dear Sergiy,
strange construction, seems a mushroom. Reading your notes I have understood that it is an astronomic observatory, for which the form is justified. The photo is composed with excellent photographic technique. Excellent the idea to also photograph the small train to give color to the image. You have really done a pleasant work, accompanied by interesting notes. Compliments!
Ciao, have a nice day!

Hi Sergiy
Surely not a dull building to look at.
I found the snow a little on the blue side, something to correct in PP.
Overall, a good presentation of the place, with the sun on the left side, for a good illumination.
Have a good WE

Hello Sergiy,
Well known style of architectures from 80's created good contrasts with its concrete facades. I like the snowy surround and colorful child charts that similar and popular also in Suriname too. Blue sky, still standing Christmas tree are excellent additions. Congratulations. Have a nice new week.

Bonjour Sergiy.
C'est assez amusant comme souvent l'architecture copie la nature.

Hello Sergiy,
I observe a striking contrast between the architecture and the design of Santa's train hahaha!
And the big guy himself is amicably present, hinting on a particular time of year...
The situation is well framed and captured with fine details!

Hello Sergiy:
Yes, a composition is without equal. But the elements are harmonious in style and color, all within a frame.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Sergiy,
another very well executed winter composition. The colorful train is definitely such a nice elements to contrast with the snow. The 80's building (yet modern) in perspective fills nicely the background. Another good point is the tangential light coming from the left. Great work!

Hi Sergiy,
Oh this one beats out the 'brick dick', hands down!! You also framed this very well using the Christmas tree to balance the tower very nicely while the train adds to the holiday spirit and together with the excellent note makes the presentation much more than a snapshot of an architechtural oddity. Well done

Hi Sergiy,
Certainly that this one is a really interesting architecture of the Soviet period. I like how you have managed the light on the covered with snow landscape, and the nice contrast created by the colors of the small tourist train on its whiteness.
The image has a high quality and is very clean.
Good work, and good informative note.
