Uau! J'aime beaucoup. Le sujet ne pouvait pas etre capter avec plus d'ame qu'ici! C'est une photo qui parle a notre ame. J'adore le sepia, le flou, enfin tout. Bravo!

Every time I hang out on main gallery, I always recognize your photos. It is not just blur, grains, b&w, darkness etc., ,t is something different; your style, your pov, your touch, your approach to a very simple scene... How can you be such unique, I wonder...
Again, all the darkness and light, all the grains and blur, very slightly brownish tint, more look like a charcoal drawing rather than a b&w photo.

I can almost hear the man's thoughts... in German... Because it just looks like Wim Wenders' film, The Wings of Desire.
Great dynamics with the pattern in the stairs, the gradation of light and the position of the man's body. Great capture.

Brilliant photography! This is a perfect example of soft focus work that does not romanticize but instead creates a mood that accompanies the most appropriate subject and the mood.
In my humble opinion, this photograph should be framed and hung in a gallery.

very different and impressive shot! loved the grains and colors here.. ofcourse the reader and his mood add so many things to the sense of the photo.. but you had captured him at a great time and place..

le flou, y en a qui aiment, d'autres pas.
Ici le résultat est du pus bel effet, on ressent mieux l'esprit du lecteur, perdu dans son journal, absorbé.
Et ce noir et blanc rend parfaitement bien.
Beau travail, proche de la peinture, du poème.

PS : Mary Poppins un peu trop flou du bougé sur la personne par rapport aux intentions et au reste de l'image, j'ai l'impression...

Hello Frédéric!
Eh oui, c'est encore moi. Ne t'en fais pas trop, j'ai une petite crise de participation à TE, mais ça va finir par me passer, car je me soigne. :))
J'avais vu cette photo lorsque tu l'as publiée, mais je ne pouvais pas la commenter. Alors, me voilà. Je l'avoue, je ne suis pas une fan du flou tel que toi. Par contre, il arrive que je trouve le résultat sublime. Ici ce que j'aime c'est qu'il n'est que peu prononcé, juste un tout petit peu. Ça donne un peu le même feeling que les photos du courant pictorialisme. Et j'ai un petit faible pour ce type de photos.
Ton personnage est on ne peut mieux choisi, ayant justement un "saveur" du début du siècle dernier (du moins, dans sa version floue! ;)) Le grain est superbe. La gestion de la lumière est également bonne. Et un sépia doux, à mon goût.
Et puis, cette photo a réussi à faire sortir Animesh de sa retraite. Tu peux t'en féliciter! :))

Absolument superbe avec un titre si bien trouvé. Lire, c'est vrai, c'est se mettre dans une vraie bulle et aux Halles, ce n'est pas évident de s'isoler.
En plus tu expliques la technique à Pascal ce qui est vraiment très sympa de ta part. Tout le monde ne confie pas ses secrets aussi facilement.
Un grand bravo!

Frederic, this is a jewel. A marvelous piece of art... How did you get such a soft, yet well define, image?
The dark sepia tonality and the diffuse grain produce a very painterly feeling... I even see some cubist traces in the lower part of the image ;-)

I think this is one of your best, Frederic. It has a soft, buttery quality that is really unique, rather painting-like, as if the man is melting into the wall behind him. It's hard to come up with more words to say what I like about this, because it's an emotional thing, but take my word for it, it's beautiful. Regards, Ken.
