NDSM tram
City: Amsterdam – Quarter: NDSM island – Location: former NDSM wharf.
This old and a bit dilapidated tram next to slipway #1 on the former NDSM ship yard in the north of Amsterdam has seen some interesting (function) changes in its life time. It was built by Düwag, used in Vienna and ended its service career in Rotterdam. Currently it provides housing for a group of artists together with two other vintage trans.
The NDSM wharf was closed in 1979. The four north-eastern docks are used by a modern shipyard again and the south-western parts with its slipways was taken over by squatters and years later turned over to them and is a thriving artist colony now. The famous Dogtroep theater company had its domicile here.
Some info about the NDSM is here. (sorry, only in Dutch).
Have a great start of the week!
The PCS3 work flow: I altered the saturation, contrast, curves and levels for the whole pic and some elements separately, using different layers, ran the highpass filter on a 54% transpartent layer, USM-ed, added a frame and resized, enhanced the edges on a 68 % transparent layer, merged the layers and did a gentle USM (0,7px, 35%) again.

Hello Bert,
I like this picture and this text tells us that the second life of this old tram.
I am pleased also to find the word "slipway" which is also the one used in the port of Concarneau in Brittany.

Dag Bert,
John.

Hi Bert
This sure is original and makes a great subject. Your pov and framing work well. The sharpness is excellent. It might have been fun to take a photo of just the reflection too.

Hi Bert,
Very well spotted. This tram seems to have travelled far more than anyone could have imagined and have now started a new life in a third city. Great use of the reflections in the water. Have nice week you too.
Cheers,
Ulf

Hi Bert,
This tram has interesting history. Good to hear that it supports creativity nowadays. I like the reflection on the puddle. Framing is rather tight. I'd like to see more of the front.

Hi Bert... The reflection here works so well, it gives even a bigger ghosht atmosphere, something that I like. It´s a proper scenary for a film.

Hi Bert
I will take first the perfect reflection, that I added to my theme, and then the old train that must have a beauty in its time. Very good framing, sharp details and nice bright colors.
Have a lovely weekend and TFS

Hi Bert,
I think our generation will be remembered in the futur by the amont or garbage we generate. And in the "garbage" there are beautiful surprises. I like the idea you show here, the colors, even the "old" texture we can appreciate. Good urban shot, full of interes!
Greetings,
Angel.

I low the moody feeling this have in spite of the clear reds. I guess the wet helps to set the feeling. Nice tight framning.
