Photographer’s Note

La Puerta del Paraíso es la puerta este del Baptisterio de Florencia, se encuentra ubicada frente a la catedral de Santa María del Fiore. Fue realizada por el orfebre y escultor Lorenzo Ghiberti en 1452 y es su obra cumbre y una de las obras más destacadas del Renacimiento. Completamente dorada, le fue puesto el sobrenombre de 'del Paraíso' por Miguel Angel Buonarroti. Después del aluvión de Florencia los paneles originales, fueron restaurados y se los conserva en el Museo dell'Opera del Duomo que se encuentra en las inmediaciones.

Escena en la Puerta del Paraíso (Lorenzo Ghiberti), esta es la la representación de David y Goliat.

The Gate of Paradise is the eastern gate of the Baptistery of Florence, is located opposite the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Was made by the goldsmith and sculptor Lorenzo Ghiberti in 1452 and is his masterpiece and one of the most outstanding works of the Renaissance. Completely browned, it was the nickname of 'Paradise' by Michelangelo Buonarroti. Florence after the flood of the original panels were restored and are being held in the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo is located in the vicinity.

Waou! Great detailed photo! I feel like being in front of the door. It also look like in 3 dimensions on my screen. I saw the Baptistere but it was in renovation when i went, doors details could not be seen. It is really great to see them here. You should sent your photo to some art website of even Florence websites.

è difficile trovare le parole giuste per fare una critica di apprezzamento a questo tuo 5° traguardo!
Trovo l'immagine semplicemente spettacolare. L'alto rilievo sembra quasi uscire dal monitor e poterlo toccare con mano.
Colori e sharp al top come sempre.

Gate of Paradise and then such a dreadful image of killing? Funny how we can see the world and use scenes such this here for something so etherical - paradise.
The image is well cropped and I like the almost perfect quadratic frame.

Te felicito por la ocasión! Y por la foto también, por supuesto, pues está muy lograda, perfectamente expuesta y con una nitidez impresionante.

Admiro tu gran actividad (te asociaste después de mi y me llevas 120 postes de avanzo :-) y aun más el alto nivel medio de tus postes. Te estoy muí grato también por la cantidad de lugares que me has dado a conocer en foto y que constantemente me dan ganas de conocer en vivo.

PS: Los 3 días que pasé en tu tierra fueran de lo mejor, aunque que necesitaría de mucho más tiempo para conocer un poco mejor esa región tan linda y me parezca que fue en la época del año en que el paisaje es menos interesante.

Hola, amiga Charo,
siento no haber podido felicitarte en su momento por tu foto 500 en TE. Estuvimos fuera el fin de semana desde el viernes.
Pili me ha avisado del evento....
Y la verdad es que es una foto perfecta para la celebración, en un plano corto sobre este magnífico bajorrelieve que se diferencia de los bellos paisajes a los que nos tienes acostumbrados.
La calidad de la imagen es muy alta, y podemos ver muchos detalles de esta obra maestra.
Me gusta como brilla y la sensación de 3D que has conseguido.
Espero otras 500!!

Felicitaciones por tu foto numero 500 en TE, la verdad que has hecho un gran trabajo y espero ver tus proximas 500. Tienes un porfolio de fotos maravilloso.
La textura y definición de esta foto están excelentes, igualmente que tu encuadre, no es una foto fácil de tomar y tu la has captado con magníficos detalles y muy buena iluminacion.

Hello Charo,
one could think the easiest task for a photographer is to reproduce the work of a great artist. Those who tried it once know its difficulties: to find the proper crop, the optimal lights and then all the other parameters in order to show the master work as perfectly as possible - sometimes more difficult than to compose your own landscape. I find the exposition here absolutely excellent, one can almost feel in the fingers the figures of the relief.
Congratulation to this fine job and to the other 499!
