Sintra - Palacio da Pena Photo

Photographer’s Note

Palacio da Pena or Palacio Nacional da Pena in Sintra is one of the best examples of Romantism Expression in the 19th century.
Considered one of Portugal's seven wonders on July 2007 this magnificent piece of architecture was built 30 years before Schloss Neuschwanstein in Baviera (Germany).
It's almost at 100% built on top of rocks and is a mix of neogothic, neomanueline, neoislamic and neorenascentist styles with other artistic sugestions such as indian).
It's located on the upper part of the Pena Park and at is surroundings there are 200 ha of wood were some very pleasant walks can take place, and from where we can appreaciate some of the most breathtaking views to Sintra surroundings and to the sea such as we see in the photo.
Little bridges and lakes, lots of natural species, and Mouros Castles are some of the other interesting things we can find in the park.

Great shot of this fairytale castle.I like the composition nwith this wall in the foreground and the view at the sea in the far distnce.Excellent sharpness and nice,bright colors.

Very nice shot that combines a look at the beautiful architecture with a general view of the area surrounding the castle. The colors are vivid but still natural looking and the picture's sharpness couldn't be any better.

this is a good view point to capture the castle and the deep view in BG
seems to me that it's not the first time i see this castle,

Esse palácio é um espetáculo, tanto por sua arquitetura quanto por sua localização!
Sua foto está excelente e muito bonita! A nitidez está muito boa e a luminosidade também! O ponto de vista foi muito bem escolhido e a composição verdadeiramente acertada, realçando-lhe a beleza arquitetônica, com senso de dimensão (pela adição das pessoas), e a sua fascinante localização, em que a gente pode ver bem ao longe, até o mar! La qualité d'image et le bel éclairage mettent bien en valeur ce magnifique palais devant ce beau ciel bleu.. La perspective est excellente et on dirait presque un effet de 3D. Les couleurs sont superbes et la place bien aninée.

Ora aqui está uma foto da Pena bastante diferente do que é habitual aqui no TE. O enquadramento é fantástico e tiraste muito bem partido da vista em profundidade até ao mar. Só foi mesmo pena teres deixado o horizonte tão inclinado. O contraste de cores é muito bonito e o polarisador fez o seu papel muito bem.

un point de vuie imprenable, haut perché, qui permet de dégager cette profondeur et de rejoindre la mer dont l'horizon malheureusement, ne me semble pas bien droit.
Superbe couleurs pour une netteté totale.

Bom dia Paulo, tens aqui um belo postal :) O que gosto mais é desta diagonal fortíssima a sair do cantinho que contrasta com a delicadeza e romantismo da arquitectura. O Palácio é mesmo engraçado e parece que foi feito por crianças grandes. Até a luz com aquele céu polarizado trasmite uma atmosfera meio irreal e sonhadora. Se calhar até deixaste o horizonte assim de propósito...para manteres tudo o resto tão certinho ;-)

Uma composição bonita e algo diferente do habitual.O filtro permitiu retirar alguma luminosidade à fachada.Mas parece-me que esses filtros servem para serem usados com f/> e velocidade

unfortunatelly the place was already closed when i reached it after 6 p.m. so that i could see it from the outside...
classical, beautiful composition nicely reveals a marvel which the place seems to be...

one complaint, though - the greenery is normally greener there or did i miss something while in sintra?....

la vista desde este lugar es espectacular, y tu buen encuadre la equilibra con la interesante y curiosa arquitectura del palacio de Sintra, lo que funciona muy bien gráficamente.
La fuerte luz está bien controlada y has aprovechado el buen efecto que añaden las sombras.
Me gusta, es una foto muy bonita y llena de vida.

I've seen this palace from quite a few POVs, but never this view. Like the perspective created with the ramparts on the left. The colour combination of yellow-red is eye catching & contrast well with the deep blue sky. Love it!
