Photographer’s Note
If you know me you will know that I cannot resist a portrait.
She was working on the road on the way to the Kumbalgarh Fort. The original is in the WS I am not sure which I prefer, the tighter cropping extenuates her nose-ring I think, and you?

Hi Elaine,
And I like the tighter crop as it pulls the lines in her face and that absolutely incredible nose ring forward. I like those details better than the colors of her shawl and the slightly bright exposure of the workshop, which I find distracting when I compared the images side by side. I might have used the shadow and highlight tool a bit to pull the shadows from her eyes and to tone down the bright sunlight on her face, too. I think it is a fine image as it stands, though, and congratulate you on a job well done!
Thank you,

Hello Elaine,
A portrait that is not only very well made, but also informative about India.
Sharp, well matching colours and I like the close cropping.
Well done.

Hi Elaine, how're you doing? Hope, you are well. Meant to give you a call a long time ago, as far as I'm concerned I want to catch up with you.
This is a fantastic portrait of a beautiful lady, very detailed photo in which you managed the light very well. I actually don't know (yet) which one I prefer, the WS one or this one.
I see you have a D90 now, do you like it?

Hi Elaine,
I'm glad you couldn't resist :o)
D90...new camera again?
Prefer the cropped version and love the details of that beautiful nose ring...and the ear ring and the scarf makes a great frame.
Hope you are fine.

Top qulity image.Freat detail quality on her skin. I like very much the matural framing coimg with her shawl around the face, The red is working so well with her skin tone. Great one.

Dear Elaine
Very difficult to choose between the two, yes in fact this cropped version highlights the nose ring. Good skin tones which show the effects of dry winter...yeah I like this closer more intimate crop…fine portrait!
Best Regards

Hellow Elaine,
This is a very nice cloouse up portrait, you signiture and your style, No one does portrait so well like you do. Lovely details, so much charactor and historiy in this face. All intimate details are shown here. Such a hard life for some of these people but at least they seem happy most of the time.
Thanks Elaine.
