Photographer’s Note

An overcast day in Yosemite National Park, in California. Even in this weather, the park still looks stunning. Taken from one of several stone bridges in the Village area.

"Yosemite Village is the primary developed place in Yosemite Valley. Situated along the north side of the valley floor, its permanent population includes National Park Service staff and some concession workers. The Village is the site of some useful facilities, such as a fire station, a post office (zip 95389), a medical clinic, a convenience store, restaurants, gift shops, and the park's headquarters facilities and main visitor center. The Yosemite Lodge is located on the west end of the village near Yosemite Falls. The Ahwahnee Hotel is a few blocks to the north. Like Camp Curry, Yosemite Village is characterized by shed style architecture making heavy use of native wood."

Hello Chris,
The overcast sky offers lovely soft light and colours. Good point of view with the river leading the viewer into the landscape. Looks a very peaceful spot.

Hi Chris,

The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The point of view takes our eyes toward the mountain in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The trees are framing well the river. The light fog is trying to hide or having an effect on the colors of the scenery. Have a nice day.

Tu sautes allégrement d'un continent à l'autre, d'un vaste pays à un autre, avec toujours des paysages superbes. Ta tête et ta boîte à images sont pleines de visions extraordianires, n'est-ce pas ?
L'image d'aujourd'hui n'est pas trop soignée ; mais bon, je ne fais pas le difficile, avec tous tes antécédents ! ;o))

This is a beautiful shot of Yosemite NP, a place I yet have to visit! I love the POV with a view of the mountain in the distance reflecting on the water in the foreground. Wonderful colours and great details! Well done!

Yes the light is quite bad, yet I'm sure the beauty you saw would be awesome. The splatter of autumn colours add brightness & the reflection of the hill in the running water of the river looks nice. Well done!

Yosimite sure look more beautiful than in the spring, though most of the waterfall are dried up. But the fall colors really enhance the beauty of the area. Excellent composition here and beautiful reflection in the stream. Very lovely. Thanks
