Juromenha - II Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is my second post of Juromenha Fortress. This time it's a different pov, but we can still see the tower of the church devoted to Nossa Senhora do Loreto (that I've shown before)and on the left side we have another one with a bell tower - it's a 17th century church devoted to São Francisco de Assis. What we see here is a part of the space within the walls.
This fortress dates from the 9th century and it's situated very close to the Guadiana River and also to Spain.It has played an important role along its history, especially during the Moorish period.

Hello Ana ,
Oh , I like a lot this colorfull picture . The POV is really good , that leads our eyes from the wonderful fore ground , to the two interesting and different church towers . I can see that sprintime come early in southern Portugal .

A superb post with a nice balance in the composition and a POV well selected. The colours of the vegetation and of the edifice arise very well under this superb blue sky. An intersting and very good photowork.

Esta ainda está melhor que a anterior! Todos os elementos parecem encaixar harmoniosamente para produzir um compo perfeita - um canteiro natural de flores amarelas em forma de trapézio que se algonga diagonalmente para a direita, o caminho ou rua, que conduz à torre, uma série de linhas que se encontram ligeiramente à esquerda do centro... E que nitidez e cores! Belo céu azul!

Very well captured view of the fortress using the FG flowers to bring some green contrast to blue sky enhanced by your CPL filter. I like the curved part of shadow at the right and the 2 towers punching into the blue sky. Good work.

Crystal clear colour and nice perspective. Yellow of the wild flowers is truly lovely and beautiful, vivid green makes it stand out more. The small path leads effectively the eye to the old church and the clear blue sky.

After saying I had not see a shot in a while I looked in your gallery and there are many on which I had not commented. I guess somehow your name was taken off the favorites list but in any case, this is a great capture. The light seems near mid day and the lack of deep shadows makes for a lot of detail t be seen. Fine colors and wonderful crispness across the whole frame. Good work.

Hello Ana,

This lovely image of the church dedicated to St. Francis, standing within the walls of the much older castle, conveys the medieval preoccupation first with mollifying God, and second with defending themselves against occupation (the order could be reverse). The yellow flowers, set against the green foliage adds a strong color element.
