Photographer’s Note
Hello,
This is my very first pic on Trekearth.
Shot in Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan. The Iranians maintain that no religious taboo explains the wearing of these masks: rather is it a fashion which originates from the period of the Portuguese occupation when ladies wished to walk about unrecognized or simply to protect their complextion from the scorching sun.
Thanks for your feedbacks...

Hi David,
Welcome to TE! An interesting picture with very good colours, but I recommend you to upload photos with the maximal allowed size, 800 pixels; this one is only 500.
Kind regards

Hallo David!
An interesting begin here on TE! Welcome! You show us a really intriguing photo - and an eyecatching one. An incredible "fashion" which is explained very well by your note.
Hope to see more of "davidaparis"! You should use a bigger format - it's possible!
Greetings from Germany - with fresh snow!

Welcome David - a fascinating portrait of something I've never known about. Looks quite grotesque and bizarre.
