Photographer’s Note
Again this is taken from the top of the Skyline Complex from the observation deck.
Had a buffet dinner at the restaurant looking out at this view and waited till it started to get dark, I wanted it to still be light enough to get The Remarkables in the background.
I have to tell you the wind was howling and it was freezing cold (well for a Queenslander it was) I had a jacket and scarf on and I was still cold. There was a total of 3 brave souls out there to get the night shot, not even my travelling partner ventured outside.
An interesting bit of information that one of the locals told me as we waited for the sun to go down, was that by early afternoon Bob's Peak which the Skyline Complex sits creates a shadow over Queenstown. Because of this there is a lot of people now building on the otherside of the lake around Kelvin Heights to get more sunlight hours.

Hello Jude:
This is a very typical "night" picture. The sky is still blue, letting us see some detail of the landscape, but the city lights are already lit.
I personally also like to take this sort of pictures, and yes, some patience pays at the end, with a good result, like this one.
Greetings,
Jürgen

Hi Jude, your braving of the elements was well rewarded. Lighting is perfect and the whole image is sharp. No complaints about the composition. Overall a fine result. Well done. Cheers, Steve

Nice birds eye view moment. THe lights are so strong and intense in the night sky.
Youre good at this dramatic and intense PP without going over the top!!

Hello Jude,
Ah, i was waiting and hoping for this one. We stood at the same spot and it's good to see you also had great weather and light in the sky. The only thing we both don't have is snow on the peaks, i presume we have to go in the winter time to capture that extra on the tops, but i see you have some nice clouds which work excellent here....i like that part a lot, very good work, also on the exposure.
Kind regards,
Henk

Hi Jude,
Very high viewpoint is successfully combined with blue hour lights. Balance between street illumination and darkening sky is excellent too. As you had a tripod you actually could have used lower ISO to get less noise.
