Photographer’s Note
Orthodox p.w. St.. Mary Magdalene is the oldest temple in Bialystok. It is located in the center of the city on a hill at the confluence of the streets of Krakow, Grunwaldzka and Kalinowski, in addition to the amphitheater. It comes from the eighteenth century. It was founded by the family events with the cemetery, which belonged to the "Dominion Bia³ostockiego". Until the mid-nineteenth century it was administered by the heirs of the house, acting as a municipal cemetery. Acquisition of the cemetery by the treasury at the end of the 50-year, ended the dispute over the area between the Roman Catholic parish and the Orthodox parish. During 70-according to the decision of the then authorities, the cemetery was demolished, and in this place was built amphitheater. Church of St.. Mary Magdalene is a chapel in the parish of St.. Nicholas. Is also the church garrison (military parish church of Apostles Peter and Paul). Military is the parish pastor, Fr. Prot. Igor Siegieñ kpt.
