Do you remember the old dear kodachrome? The elders here should do. When I saw this picture at home it reminded me of my old slides: the same colours, the same clarity and contrast. I made no pp. This is just the jpg file as it came out of the camera. I took many other better shots, more interesting as composition, but I was affascinated by the semplicity of this one.

This is the place I was yesterday. The island you see is called Isola Rossa (Red island) and it's shot from the beach of Portu Tramatzu, Teulada. It was a perfect sunny day, you could stay in bathing suits... some tourists even bathed into the sea. Actually I meant to go on with my Malfatano series but I liked so much the transparency and the colour of the sea that I decided to post this simple composition.

Vi ricordate delle vecchie kodachrome? I più anziani qui dovrebbero ricordarle. quando ho visto questa foto a casa mi ha ricordato le mie vecchie diapositive: gli stessi colori, la stessa chiarezza e contrasto. Non ho fatto alcun pp, questo è il file jpg come è uscito dalla macchina fotografica. Ho scattato molte altre foto, sicuramente più interessanti come composizioni, ma sono stato affascinato dalla semplicità di questa.

Questo è il posto dove sono andato ieri. L'isola che vedete è L'Isola Rossa, presa dalla spiaggia di Portu Tramatzu a Teulada. Era una magnifica giornata di sole, si poteva stare in costume da bagno... alcuni turisti hanno perfino fatto il bagno. In realtà volevo continuare con la mia serie di Malfatano, ma mi piaceva così tanto la trasparenza e il colore dell'acqua che ho deciso di pubblicare questa semplice composizione.

Mai titolo fu più azzeccato ... parlavo proprio ieri l'altro al meeting dell'effetto velvia!!!
Una composizione semplice, pulita ...ma che colori e che acqua... davvero straordinari!!
Arriva la bella stagione in Sardegna vedo !! ... bene bene.

PS: sono stato proprio due anni fà alle 5 terre per Pasqua...sfiga vuole che ho dimenticato la macchina digitale e mi sono dovuto arrngiare con l'usa e getta...che disdetta. C'era moltissima gente lungo i sentieri però le giornate erano belle e della zona avevo ricordi remoti...

Did you took this today, this early morning? Probably taken yesterday during your Sunday stroll along the beach ;-)
Don't no if you paid extra attention to it, but this is what i mean with bright sunny colours. Not flat or boring, the whole image shines. The textures in the water are beautuful, also the way how it gets darker as further we look in to the ocean were the island is waiting for us. The pola gave you a very good blue sky were some clouds are popping out of it, i like that. A perfect rebound from our yesterday talk...strong picture.

Ciao Donato, The title is very misleading but I like your note & how you drew a parallel so I will forgive you, ;-), Excellent colour with the polarizer doing it's job like it should, the water is crystal clear, the little island interesting & well placed.

really the old Kodachrome films are full of memories that in nowadays are replaced from the PP systems.A simple but real scene with the transparency water and on the far end the rock formations.Brilliant light and vivid colours are the main characteristics of the place.Well done.

Very lovely colors to define such a link between the water, the cloud and the sky and having the rock formation breaking up the view very nicely at a good placement of your composition. Perhaps the water is cold? No swimmer!

the crystal clear water is almost hypnotic, and very Zen, the very strong feeling of wide open space and tranquility makes this photo great for meditation :) love the minimalism, and how the colour of the water gradually changes drawing the eye with it into the deep... great shot, I like it a lot.

The photo may be simple, but it is very beautiful and has a lovely atmosphere. The transparent water is really fascinating and the colours are great. In addition excellent clarity and sharpness. A joy to view! Amazing that tourists were already bathing, when we still have ices in most of the beaches here. ;-)

Questa foto mi mette la voglia di piazzare la canoa in acqua e scivolare sino a quell'isoletta. Dammi tempo qualche settimana e lascia passare le ultime piogge e lo faccio davvero, qui o altrove.
Foto che "vende" bene, un mare che attrae, colori non esasperati e gran lavoro del pola.

A beautiful palette or "dégradé" of blues in this new picture of yours. I am not sure the od Kodachrome would have reach these subitle nuances.

Beautiful rich texture to the beach and riffling seas that change colors three times as they move towards the charming little island that is wonderfully covered in lush green and contrast gray rocks.
The colors are amazingly clear and crips with wonderful sharpness to this superb coastal landscape.

I like the infinity which is expressed in this photo... and also the light cloud above the rocks in the distance it almost repeats their shape...
I am impressed by the clarity and colour of the water. I wish I could step into it! and get some suntan......

le foto così semplici e pulite, con un unico punto d'attrazione allo sguardo (la linea dell'orizzonte, in questo caso, tanto che l'isolotto sembra quasi un intruso) sono le più belle e le più difficili da realizzare.

here we have all components of a very successful and pleasant image: an excellent POV, amazingly gentle colors, an excellent light and an interesting sky. And most important for me: the atmosphere of the seaside. My compliments! And you are right concering Kodachrome: I am convinced that there is up to now nothing that can replace the quality of a slide.
