Photographer’s Note

During my increasingly frequent raids looking for pictures for you, I was struck by this strange form of a cloud behind the house, helping it to live its moment of glory. Here we are on the road leading to Enna. I hope you like it.

Incredible cloud... Amazing !
The thumbnail is really eyecatching with this stunning white shape against the deep blue sky. Did you use a polarizer to get this great blue ?
You've done an excellent work on colours to bring the huge cloud out, and the old barn gives the scale.
Excellent presentation of a so marvelous nature.

Giorgio, just like Karine, I also have to ask if you used a circular polarizer for this shot. I'm pretty sure you did, as the sky really screams, "Look at me!" I also like how the clouds somewhat look like melting ice on azure waters. Hai usato un tripod per questo retratto?

Ciao Giorgio! Actually I work but I had to make a short "stop over" ... and I found THIS! What a treat for my eyes and soul, it is wonderful and I can dream and sail along with these clouds up there. Just everything so nicely placed, the little hut, the amount of grass in the foreground, and the clouds. Perfect ... and now back to work :))) Nobody saw me ... I hope. Happy evening, Barbara.

woaw, this photo seems nearly like painted. You could also have called 'Little house on the prairie'. The big cloud makes the house appear like a little dwarf.

Giorgio my friend...Perfectly managed light in this proportionate distribution of colours..seems exposure is just right to bring out a well balanced saturation of colours..

Good use of the elements with the right perspective..think it gives the right depth the compo demands...well presented..i like it :).good art feel to it and a sense of minimalism !

esercito il mio diritto di critica su una tua foto che pur essendo ottima come inquadratura denuncia a mio avviso delle pecche tecniche in fase di PP.
L'operazione di pulizia dalla grana ha fatto perdere il contorno alle nuvole che in certi tratti risultano un po' macchiate e poi osservo una linea azzurra che non capisco fra il cielo e il verde della collina.

The sky is amazing here and you have captured it wonderfully. The house is placed nicely allowing us to see the open field on the opposite side. The lighting and colors are fine with excellent sharpness and DOF.

dal punto di vista compositivo, l'immagine è molto bella ma dal punto di vista del PP, anche io denoto alcune pecche che nell'amicizia, credo sia giusto dire.

Non sò se è l'effetto troppo spinto di Neat Image, ma il novolone è diventato innaturale, soprattutto nei contorni.

Inoltre la linea bianca che divide il cielo dalla terra, fa vedere tale cielo come se si trattasse di un collage.

Forse è l'effetto di una maschera di contrasto troppo forte sul prato. Una maschera di contrasto troppo spinta, crea di queste linee di separazione.

I quite like this one, the minimalistic composition and huge cloud creates a great feeling of wide open space, that's something I always enjoy. but in some areas photo looks "plastic" and flat, did you use some noise reduction software? or is it a result of a compression? don't get me wrong, it is a very good photo, but it might be one of those images that lose quality when resized according to TE requirements.

Ma Giorgio! Perché tiri fuori la parte più "stregonesca di me"? Io li vedo benissimo: lui (nuvola a sinistra) vuol baciare lei ( nuvola a destra) che é invece molto arrabbiata e si ritrae; forse sta per mollargli un ceffone. C'é anche un bambino (nuvoletta all'estrema destra) che pare allarmato. Come sarà finita questa che sembra una lite in famiglia tra nuvole?
Lo so che sono matta... Chi altri, se non io, potrebbe inventarsi il tutto per commentare questa tua bellissima foto? Solo ed esclusivamente

essenzialità e finezza compositiva sono gli elementi principi che spesso contraddistinguono i tuoi fotogrammi. Questa immagine spicca soprattutto per l'accurata composizione e il formato, sembra il tipico quadretto, la regolazione dei toni nel cielo è apprezzabile ma secondo me ha eccessivamente condizionato la definizione risultante. Il tema della campagna però mi piace molto e spero gironzolerai anche questa primavera per catturare un po' di queste chicche.

Il contrasto tra cielo, nuvole e prato è semplicemente eccellente. Le nuvole sembrano 2 cavalli montati da due cavalieri che si rincorrono in una gara e la casetta dà il tocco finale rendendo la composizione completa. Ottimo lavoro

Io parto sempre dal presupposto che una fotografia deve essere in grado di raccontare una storia, il lato tecnico e` importante ma non lo considero essenziale. I capolavori di tecnologia fotografica a se stante, dove ogni pixel e` perfetto e tutto combacia altrettanto perfettamente con quanto prescritto da "esperti", regole e manuali vari, mi fanno venir un sonno della madonna. Voglio dire : io guardo questa foto e sogno... basta e avanza!

The cloud is indeed very intriguing and seems to have the intention of haunting the little defenceless house on the horizon. Without the cloud, it would be still a great minimalist view. Very well seen and captured!

A lovely serene shot. The hut almost appears a bit lost in the grand scale of its natural environment. The colors are good although the picture almost has appearance of an oil painting. The composition is perfect though.
