Photographer’s Note
The Prasat Phra Debidorn building you can find inside the courtyard of Grand Palace, is also called the Pantheon. The interior, which is only open to the general public on one day each year, Chakri Day (6th April), contains life-size statues of the first eight kings of the Chakri dynasty (the present monarch King Bhumibol is the ninth member of this dynastic line).
You can see a farther view of Grand Palace here
Taken after a heavy rain @ F8, 1/180, ISO 200.

JOn, if it was not for this washed out sky left of the Palace, I'd think that this is HDR. The range of light and colors is amazing.
I like how you used that line in the middle to anchor our eyes and bring them toward the Palace. The water is great because it brings high contrasts and like everyone knows:after the rain comes the great colors!!
When I went there, I had pants pretty much the lenght of that guy with the green shirt, but they did not let me in...it was a very hot and crowded day, so I guess they could spare one visitor!!;)
see you!

Hi Jon, A beautiful shot, no doubt! Is it a HDR? The colors are so lively. You were lucky to have the rain because it created very nice reflections on the flagstones.

Hi, Jon. A very carefully constructed image. The perspective leading to the temple forces the eye towards the main subject. The golden towers on each side of the temple and the temple itself stand well out against the dramatic sky. The vertical format is a good choice here.
Have a nice day,
Philippe

Hello Jon! We should NEVER complain about rain and bad weather :))) This is the best proof ever! The floor is firmly shinging and left a wonderful glow. The sky with the rest clouds from the shower is really something, it seems to move towards us which gives an interesting dynamic element. I also like that you have people included. It makes the place "visited" and it becomes more natural this way. Very nice the long entry over this wooden boardwalk ... it leads us in and we are right there. Excellent photo, you really know what you do. Best regards, Barbara.

I really like this photo. The wet ground is nicely captured and the composition is nice. I like the dramatic sky too. The pink part of the clouds looks unnatural though. Overall a great shot.

hi Jon,
good atmosphere of "after rain", with this expressive sky and the wet floor.
Good treatment of the light that reinforces the gold of the twin pagodas and fences on the sides.
Perfet symmetry for this good architecture shot.

Hi Jon,
A rainy weather which wonderfully enhance this magnificent palace. A light that you have perfectly managed and perfect image sharpness. I love this sky which gives movement and relief to the photo and points out the golden towers. Bravo for this photo and thank you Jon.

HI Jon
Excellent wide angle effect here, coming both fro, the perspective lines and the elongated clouds, makes the image dynamic, the nice wet pavement is a plus, very nice image JY

Splendid clouds expanding radially by a wide-angle lens, amazing colors increasing saturation by the rain, and wet floor. They have been expertly captured with an excellent composition. Clouds are exquisite indeed!

Bonjour Jon.
La photo est d'une très grande beauté. Le ciel est fantastique. Le sol humide réfléchit la lumière et donne de la présence aux couleurs. Belle composition avec la perspective qui aboutit au Panthéon.

Hi Jon!
Your work is definitely excellent and this one is also such a great picture! The vertical format, sharpness, exposure, pov and composition are all top notch! I had already chosen this one as one of my favorite pictures from Asia but hadn't had the chance to comment on it! Here I go now! The temple is simply fantastic and the perfectly captured wet floor is a true highlight in this image!

Hi, Jon -
A fascinating lineup of the clouds and the stupas. And even though taken with an extreme wide-angle, I don't see much distortion. Great capture of the reflections in the rain-washed pavement, too.
Best,
