Photographer’s Note
Finally spring has come to Moscow, and yesterday was the first very sunny day with no clouds in the sky. Maybe the sun was shining even too brightly!
It was rather cold, though...
I thought to walk about the same area I walked just a few days ago... and took some shots, including this one.
This guy was waiting for his girlfriend who had gone to a big bookstore which is on the left and invisible in this photo.
I came from the opposite side of the road, and when I got out of the underground passage I wanted to take a few photos of the Moscow City Government office (Moscow City Hall).
I took a photo of it from almost the same POV a few days ago, too, but... as you will see in the Workshop, the weather was quite different! Which would you prefer?... :)
Unfortunately it was out of the question to include the whole motorcyclist (with his motorbike) in the photo: around and behind me there were cars, a wall... and nowhere to step back!
PP Work: cropping a little of both sides, cloning out the ugly wires in the top left corner.
Happy Easter to those who celebrate it!
And a nice weekend to all! :)
I'll be back on Monday.

Info about the building:
The Moscow City Government office of the Classicism style was built in 1778-1782 by famous Russian architect M. Kazakov.
Before the 1917 Revolution this building was the official headquarters of Moscow Governor-Generas.

Hi Fanni. The shot has a sense of the immediate, a moment in time-cars rushing past, a guy waiting for his girlfriend, a woman taking a photo of the scene...nice light and lovely details. it is a fine Neo-Classical building, beautifully maintained. regards. Klaudio.

Привет Елена.
Наконец то весна и у вас.
А то нам надо скоро ехать в посольство в Москву. Это уже лучше чем холодная и пасмурная погода. :(

Hi Elena,
i would say: I like both of them. The original because of the funny scene who's looking at who and that one of the workshop which has some motion in it (the cars passing by) and a menacing sky which adds more contrast to the composition.
Well done and happy eastern,
Edi

Bonjour Elena
belle composition de cet édifice qui sert d'hôtel de ville de Moscou, le tout dans une belle luminosité. Joyeuse Pâques.

Hi Elena,
I prefer this picture, compared to the WS. Here you swow us both the impressive building close and also a glimpse of interesting street activity, with the motor cyclist in bright colours.
Happy Easter and kind regards

Hi Elena!
the spring warm light looks overflowing from your shot and my screen.
the wall color of city hall in the shadow is actually very effective to show the shining spring sky and road there.
maybe the red rider is vivid symbol of your spring...and cars look quite like a wind of coming spring.
thank you for your light shot!

hi Elena
I like this confrontation.
This is the situation where you would do fine with Tokina 11-16mm UWA lens :) But with your explanation I know the crop is not avoidable, so I can accept it. His red actually makes a nice contrast to the architecture of the building. Instead of the building, he may be the subject :)

Hello Elena, This is the second time I.m writing a critique on this one , not sure why it did not register maybe I forgot to press the "Add" button.
Nice street scene with the motorcyclist (IMO) becoming the mail focus, I think mainly because of his positioning in the frame & the bright red riding gear. Nice piece of architecture in the BG, I like the overall natural looking colour & sharpness. Not sure which one I prefer the WS version is different but also very good, headlights on, motion blur all good points.
Well done.
Although a little late I hope you had a wonderful Easter. Thank you for your good wishes.
Thank you

Hello Elena,
I get a feeling that the man on the motorbike is looking straight at you. And I don't think he's smiling. Lucky for you he couldn't get off the bike.
Whatever he's doing, the man in bright red clothes plays an important role as a foreground to this picture. Without him, the elegant building across the street would have looked a lot less attractive. He adds some kind of excitement to an otherwise very ordinary street.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hallo Elena!
Durch den Farbkontrast rückt der Motorradfahrer eindrucksvoll ins Bild, sehr gute Ausführung, gratuliere!
