Photographer’s Note

Before to end my series about the TE meeting in Venice I want to start a kind of travelogue with the images around the meeting, before and after.
The previous day we have traveled to Treviso, our logistic base, and we have decided to have a visit of Verona before arrive.

The statue of Berto Barbarani, a poet of Verona, the statue is in one corner of the square "Piazza delle Erbe".
From Wikipedia:
The Roman military settlement in what is now the center of the city was to expand through the cardi and decumani that intersect at right angles. This structure has been kept to the present day and is clearly visible from the air. Further development has not reshaped the original map. Though the Roman city with its basalt-paved roads is mostly hidden from view it stands virtually intact about 6 m below the surface. Most palazzi and houses have cellars built on Roman artifacts that are unfortunately rarely accessible to visitors. Piazza delle Erbe, near the Roman forum was rebuilt by Cangrande I and Cansignorio della Scala I, lords of Verona, using material (such as marble blocks and statues) from roman spas and villas.

questo POV è veramente interessante, esalta la "statura" del poeta e quella della città. Oltretutto, la resa cromatica è molto valida. Insomma, proprio un bel lavoro!

Ciao Vinicio,
bella prospettiva dal basso con interessante allineamento della statua e del tagliente spigolo del Palazzo. Il tutto guida l'occhio verso un cielo di un bell'azzurro che occupa in diagonale spezzata l'immagine. Bellissima composizione.

Simpatico, eh questo poeta per avere un primo piano in piazza delle Erbe!
Sembra molto assorto. Anche a Trieste ci sono statue di questo genere sparse per la città, ma ad altezza d'uomo.

Vagamente inquietante il tuo Barbarani, con quel bastone che sembra nascondere dietro alla schiena...pronto a colpire. Chi? E piuttosto minacciosa é anche la sua raffigurazione bronzea (sbaglio?). Un personaggio da prendere con le pinze... ma perfettissimo per me che scrivo gialli.
Ehi, a parte gli scherzi: questa tua é una foto eccellente, molto forte quanto al contrasto visivo e interessantissima per l'impatto, oltre che...NON VOGLIO SCRIVERLO! DETESTO QUESTO TERMINE!!! Ma non so come tradurlo ( punto di vista non é esauriente) : POV. Okay, l'ho scritto.

fantastic angle! It creates such a strong, powerful composition with the statue looking at the building. You connected these two elements perfectly in one frame, one entity. They provide excellent result accompanied by wonderful bright light and most vibrant overall appearance.

Mi piace molto la tua foto, con una luce e colori molto belli. Ottimo contrasto colla statua guardando la bellissima architettura di questa piazza.

A very original take...for a moment I thought when I saw in the thumbnail, that the statue of Berto Barbarani, was a silhouette of a real man. Very fine framing & compo, which I like a lot my friend!
