Photographer’s Note

This cottage sits on the premises of the stunning Polesden Lacey property owned by the National Trust in Surrey.

The house used to be owned by a rich entrepeneur whose wife turned it into a hotbed of aristocratic social life during the early Twentieth Century. Inside you can flick through dusty photo albums containing black and white shots of many of Britain's former monarchs, including George VI and the Queen Mother who stayed there at the beginning of their honeymoon.

The property also affords beautiful views of the rolling Surrey Hills and is an oasis of calm despite being so close to busy commuter towns.

Polesden Lacey was donated to the National Trust in 1947 and is well worth a visit if the weather is in your favour.
