Photographer’s Note
Royal Palace of Madrid just after the rain.
The Royal Palace of Madrid is the official residence of the King of Spain, located in Madrid. King Juan Carlos and the royal family do not reside in this palace, instead choosing the smaller Palacio de la Zarzuela, on the outskirts of Madrid. However, the Palacio Real de Madrid is still used for state occasions.
The palace is located on Bailén street, in the western part of downtown Madrid, east of the Manzanares River, and is accessible from the Ópera metro station. The palace is partially open to public, except when in official use.

I'm no great fan of the building itself but this an exceptional use of reflection in photography. The deep blue of the sky is beautiful and I love the little touch of colour that the Spanish flag brings to the picture.
This is the kind of shot I would expect to find on a postcard in the palace's gift shop. Well done!

Hello Assi,
Very impressive composition with the large reflection on the floor, making double the palace with in more a good rendering of the clouds in the sky.
An original architectur shot.
Yves.

Hi Assi
I like it because it's hard to tell where the real world finishes and where the reflected one begins, gives the image a surreal effect.
Have a nice day JY

Fascinating, cleverly using the reflections, also nice you included those arches on the left.. this courtyard looks like a lake... also nice touch of red and yellow given by the flag up there

Assi,
This is a great shot of this imposing palace. The reflection is outstanding and creates depth and balance for the scene. The people walking across the reflection gives the shot a 3-D effect. The lighting and colors are fine with nice sharpness and DOF.
