Photographer’s Note
Bhandak Thaach (Thaach - grassland) on the foothills of the Himalayas is at an altitude of about 8000 ft. from sea level. The place is ideal for camping with soft green grass bed and a breathtaking view of the Himalayas.
April to October is the time to visit and at other times its covered in snow, and relatively inaccessible at most times.
One can go upto Manikaran by bus from Delhi (change buses at Manali / Bhuntar) and trek for a day to get to this beautiful place :)
The 2 small specs seen towards the left corner of the picture are 2 people going for a walk.. just gives an idea how huge the Deodar trees in the background are, and the vastness of the landscape.
I have taken this photo on film and do not have a record of the settings used...

Reminds me of Pahalgam meadows and mountains, Goutham. Pretty as a picture :).
Good capture on film and better scan. The colours are rich and natural. The frame is well chosen.
The trees may not be all deodar. At this height, we get Spruce and other tall trees.
Thanks.
