Photographer’s Note

Corme-Royal is a French commune in the Charente-Maritime département, Poitou-Charente region. With a population of just over 1500, it lies 15 kilometres to the west of the town of Saintes. It was known as "Corme-la-Forêt" during the Revolution.

Its economy is mainly dependent on agriculture including the raising of cows and pigs as well as bee-keeping. There is a well stocked garden centre just outside the village.
