Photographer’s Note

One of the most famous markets of Istanbul is the Misir Carsi (means "Egyptian Market"), the spice bazaar, a colourful market, where you can find all sorts of spices ("baharat"), herbs and orientals sweets, even some natural turkish "viagra".

It was constructes in 1660 as part of the complex (kulliye) of the Yeni Camii (mosque). Nowadays, more and more spice shops leave their place to touristic ones or shops that sell electronics etc. but you can still have a strong "taste" of the "Orient".

WORKSHOP-*COLOURFUL MOUNTAINS OF BAHARISTAN*
This is a photo I had uploaded a few days ago and was deleted by the mods for "excessive post process" or something like that. Although I had written in my note that the sky was from a different picture, it seems that our beloved mods don't apreciate honesty. In fact, I doubt that if I had not written it in the note, that any of our mods, would have paid attention, and anyway it's another proof of their lack of humour and imagination. Hope you like it, anyhow!
