Photographer’s Note
Bundi is often described as the undiscovered jewel of Rajasthan.
Surrounded on three sides by the thickly forested Aravilli Hills, this walled town has retained much of its historic character.

During my visit in India, I had the priviledge to meet for the first time and spend ten days with the talented and charming miss Wanda van den Hogen (TE member Wanda1 - please have a look at the workshop for photos).
On our last day together, we've shared a lunch with sir Chatterjee Angshuman (TE member Angshu) for a quick but memorable meeting.

Hi Andre,
I like the contrast of colours created by the turban. This is an interesting and well composed image as you placed the subject on the lighter side of the wall. Good details and light. Thanks Andre :-)

Coucou cousin,

bonjour Andre
Since your critique sometime ago, I am waiting for your travel post and it is now here with opener from India and what a treat, another 2 photos of the South African beauty in WS. I am envious, spending 10 days with her, ending at lunch with Angshuman.
So finally your post from India trip. And I wonder what happened to your Japan trip. Now I see in intro of Quebec/Vancouver! I am excited about this road trip, because I had taken a VW Bug roadtrip travel from New Brunswick to Vancourver/Seattle and back the USA way to Maritimes province of New Brunswick again but without photography as a main hobby. I am surely looking forward to your travelogue to that cross-Canada tour.
I think the blue wall caught my attention together with the cross legs, shoes and stick. This looks so much different if the legs are on the ground. The orange turban stands out very nicely.
And one thing I notice, you made perfectly sure the vertical lines stay that way :)
The man's staring look is incredible, a little smile. Great work and I wait for the next...

Hi Andre.
Nice to see you again. How are you? I hope you'll be fine of course. And the new job? Amazing? Toni and Nikky in Switzerland (who will be in Barcelona next weekend and I were talking about your trip there hahahahahahaha)
A lovely picture of course. An excellent portrait of the real life.
My compliments!
PS: Will you be more active? :P

A bientôt...

Bonjour Andre,
Terrific shot with magical blues, the blue touch in the shoes is so great. I like the man's posure, posing, like a statue, yet with a look which is very alive. But it's those shoes that are the finishing touch!

Hi Andre,
Well here it is, your first upload from your very long trip and what a great one it is to start off with. You are right about all the blues they are great...from the light blue of the walls to the dark blue of the door to the cool blue of the inners of his shoes... and amongst all the blue you have the orange of his turban standing out. He sits well positioned on the small ledge which seems to be just the right size for him.

Hey Giant,
You were showing me this one at my house from your little travel machine. You were very happy with this one and although i saw some others too which i probably liked more, i told you that it are the shoes, the stick and way the colour balance go which makes this one very special.
You most have tons of material and from what i saw you could post on forever.
Do first the things you need to do with all these images, TE is not the first priority...but you know that already ;-)
Good to see you back again...probably heading west the coming days?
Let's keep in touch my friend..!!!
Cheers,

Hi Andre,
Nice one! The sharpness is great and the whole pose, the off center placement is just wonderful. Also love the gaze in your direction!
I met Angshu some months ago when I was in Delhi. Unfortunately the last time I was there was 3 to 4 weeks ago and by that time he had moved for his work. My organization unfortunately does not have an office in Rajasthan ;-).
Greetings!

Philippe

Hello Andre
Goood to see you back my friend! And the small note, reminded me of the little but lovely chat we shared. Am glad you elected to post a shot from Bundi as your first post from india this time. I am also glad that you took my suggestion to go there ;-). The man stares at you, almost like boring into you, his turban contrasts with the cool shades of blue around. Small but interesting part is that the insole of his shoe is also blue. Can't wait to see the next uploads from my country especially Kerala, which you so much liked!
And thanks a lot for the pix of Wanda...the Humayun tomb picture was the same day as our lunch...she's wearing the same dress
Best regards

What a delight to see something put of your office and extensive travel through Asia. The blue contrasting with the yellow is formidable and the little detail of the shoes on the ground is priceless.

Extra-ordinary classical composition if that is not a contradiction in terms - again, beautifully rendered and great attention to compositional detail - one of those shots that sets me pining for India!
