Photographer’s Note
I WANT IT BACK,
the old layout and old but good TE
fast and
easy to handle
no points please
Dear moderators:
This shot is absolutely in the sense of TE:
Learning about the world,or better how TE was.
Every day more than 20 new members sign in.
I want to show them the old layout

Hi Leo,
Mark

Andreas,
I appreciate you effort, i think the same, but it won't happen. I can hardly believe they will turn it back again. All the time and money they put in to it....no, i hardly doubt it will happen.
Take care,
Henk

Andreas: yes, there are some bugs with this system - specifically - most of the photos are cropped in the standard monitor size requiring tedious scrolling. I'm unsure what provoked the revamp. c

I agree with you. On a wide screen the new format is much too thin and the scolling is tiresome. The original version was more user-friendly. I get the feeling adverts are more intrusive too.

I feel the same. I see nothing in the new TE that is an improvement over the old. But Henk is right. They didn't even listen to the suggestions of the people they requested to test the new version, so I'm pretty well certain they will not listen to all the people who HATE the new version. It's a shame, too. New is not always better. Best wishes,
Shelly

Thanks Leo,
I'm in shock. Having been away for a couple of days, I came to the site eagerly as usual and couldn't believe my eyes. I'm hugely disappointed. This site, which I have talked up to so many friends, is now unattractive, hard work and no longer appealing.
I have no problem with ads -- over the years before I joined I welcomed the gradual increase in ads, knowing they would help assure the continuance of the site. Paradoxically, the ads now have less impact and are merely an annoying intrusion that my eyes try very hard to avoid.
Who convinced the owners to throw out something that was not only not broken but an absolute gem of beauty and efficiency?
Those who are sceptical that this mistake will be reversed are probably right but at a minimum I hope we can all recommend some improvements -- starting with a return to more uniform thumbnails and dropping the shadows, followed by more compact printing of critiques, ... . As you say, Leo, people were joining because they liked what they saw -- despite the contrast with more gimmicky sites. It will be interesting to watch the trend.

Ah, c'est difficile de changer ses habitudes mais, personnellement, je me fais assez bien au nouveau look de TE même si on a perdu quelques repères et quelques informations (les EXIFS par exemple).

Hey Leo, now you make me nostalgic about the 'good ole days'!!! Its probably been a few days and yet it seems ages ago! I myself am trying to get used to this new format. Thats why I am not posting. Once I adjust to the change I will start again. It seems so unreal right now. Guess all changes in the world create this effect

Hello Andreas,
I'm agree with you, the old TE was faster, most friendly and more proctorial.

Hallo andreas.

Helmut

Hello LEO:
Support your idea, the truth I do not like this new presentation.
Do not go if you need to familiarize with this new format, but I find it difficult to access certain elements within the page.

Hallo Andreas!
Yes, you are right! There was no need at all to change something, to create this confusing and uncomfortable appearance!
Klasse-Idee! ;-)
Grüße aus dem sommerlichen Siegen - und ein schönes Wochenende!

Hi:)
I love new gadgets and I hoped for new functions! And now I don't quite understand why they changed the TE, there are NO new functions, only complicated site...is given to old TE members.
I'm totally reluctant to open the site when I can see the ad: Would you like to know the date of you death?
I use the old one, a new one only for downloading, I hope that SOMEBODY will listen to us and make the site less complicated:) At least make it faster to open in my mobile phone...
Greetings, G.

Hi Leo,
I agree 100% with you.
The new site has a lot of features that I don't like and I miss a lot from the old one.
They may not go back to the old, but I hope they improve a lot of the new one.
This photo of yours presents a nice screen landscape, but you should correct some deformation ;-)
Greetings,
Francisco

hi Leo
A few bugs fixed, EXIF is back, upload page is ok now.
No complaints on interface of old TE so IB must have signed up lucrative ad deals for the new site.
I am not supportive of this new site. I want it back too.

AGREED, my friend!!
The old LAYOUT was easer to handle!!
You were able to find any photo not only by country and user's name but for area, now ot not happens!!!
I think the best solution it will have two options (like in Google where you have classic and i-version options)!!
We shall write to Mr.Adam !!!

Hi Andreas,
I am also a banal member of TE who agree with your remark. My voice is probably the most strong, fore more reasons! Ten points for your idea, in spite your modesty.

Hi leo,
I have been away for the past week and come back to find that all has changed, feels like I have arrived home and soemone has changed my home around:). Cant say that I am over the moon with this new layout at the moment. The scrolling seems tedious and I hate the adverts blasting in your face!!
Let's hope we get used to it soon.
Best,
Elaine

Hi Andreas,
I have already wrote what I think in the forum.
I don't mind the change. I can adjust to a new layout but I believe some features which were convenient are lost and it is a pity,

Yes Andreas, I do to.
It just took me about two minutes to find out how to even post a comment.
Things change though. TE has changed. I'm not here much anymore but ...d*mn... your still the Myanmar master ...as I post on a Germany photo.
Personally, I think it's looks much more "sophisticated" now, yet lacks the personal touch...
Nice shot
Still coming back and hanging around.
John
