Photographer’s Note
The National Park of American Samoa, our least visited park but one of the jewels of the system. I'm a little undecided on this one. I couldn't get all the diagonals to line up, but this still seems to work for some reason. Tranquility without the 'wow'?

Wow Mike,
Great photo! The sky and turbulent sea are awesomely presented and there are so many different layers/diagonal bands of colours. Also very interesting that the sky is much noticeably darker than the sea. Even though the diagonals of the rocks didn't line up percetly as you say, I like it that way, as there is more of a sense of turbulence and swelling - drama rather than order. Very Sturm und Drang.
Cheers,
Jordan

Hello Mickael,
Effectively you have not all the diagonal but it is enough drawed and the composition is strong with the rocks in opposition with the orange sky in background.
At the end, it is the exposure which did the photo with the right level to provide details in shadows and light.

Hello,
Beautiful composition. The water seems to evaporate. Sunlited part of the sky with these heavy clouds looks very impressive. I like the sharpness and beautiful calming colours of the image.
Greetings

Hi Michael,
I agree with Yves here. I think in the end what does the trick here is the exposure and the superb hues you got. Anyhow you still got that diagonal in the foreground...
