Caqueta is one of the 32 departments of Colombia. It is located in the southwest of the country, Florence is the capital.

Caquetá region began in the Andean foothills and ends in the escarpments of Araracuara, in the middle of the Amazon jungle.

Major rivers wash the area, all tributaries of the Caquetá River, which serves the southern boundary. Among these rivers are the Ajajú or Apaporis, the Yari, Caguan and Orteguaza, navigable by small boats.

With the exception of populations which are located in the bases of the mountains, and a few indigenous villages on the banks of major rivers, the rest of the country is virtually uninhabited and covered with thick tropical rainforest, with a temperature between 27 º and 29 º.

Soils are formed on metamorphic rocks of the series of the Guayanas, as well as Roraima sandstones and Cretaceous. They also appear to Caquetá basin of Cenozoic sedimentary rocks.

A very nice shot, the beauty of the natur well collected. The FG well selecetd give a great depht to the image. Good managment of light with beautiful contrast between light and shade. Very good photowork.

La vegetación y el curso tumultuosos del río, crean una atmósfera muy extranjera, muy exótico. Aprecio la gestión de las sombras y de la luz. La bonita e interesante imagen. Una muy buena realización. Bravo.

Hola John,

parece ser uma água refrescante. Gostei do controle de luz e sobra estabelecido. A imagem está muito bem preenchida pelos elementos e nos dá uma boa referência do lugar. Belo trabalho!

Que dicha que te estas recorriendo el pais entero ya veo. Gracias por el tour virtual por toda Colombia. Un dia estamos en al Atlantico, y al otro dia en Caqueta. No se le olvide que todavia me debe Santa Fe de Antioquia!
Esta foto inspira mucha tranquilidad y frescura. Muy buen manejo de la luz a pesar de la marcada sombra.

Hola John,

me gusta mucho esta composicion, la perspectiva casi a ras de suelo con el rio fluyendo hacia delante, y el juego de luces y sombras que crean los arboles sobre el agua es intersante, buenos detalles, bien visto!

Hola John,
Una situación de luz muy difícil pero bien manejada, un lugar muy belo pero que no me parece fácil para hacer compos, pero una vez más lo lograste muy bien. Es fácil percibir las potencialidades para deportes acuáticos mirando esa agua turbulenta.

Hola John,
una luz muy difícil y muy contrastada con las zonas oscuras, pero bien resuelta.
Es precisamente ese contraste lumínico y los dibujos de las sombras lo que da un ambiente muy plástico a este plano del río.
Se nota la gran fuerza del agua, incluso su color lo hace temible.

Hola John.
Esplendida foto con una preciosa escena tropical, las rocas crean una buena perspectiva con la fuerte corriente de agua del río, muy buen manejo de luz y sombras, los colores y tu POV son estupendos. Esta muy bien captada. Luego del rayo que nos cayó en mi casa ya todo gracias a Dios se ha ido normalizando.
