Photographer’s Note

This Picture was taken in Shirakawa-go, a beautiful urban japanese village. The village is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites since 1995. Theses traditional houses are called Gassho-Zukuri and the roofs are all built in a 60° angle because of lot of snow in this area. Unfortunatley this beautiful place became quite touristique, but you can take a bus and drive to Ainokura which is about 45 minutes away. A very small village with only Gassho-Zukuri houses and sleep there in of them, really a great experience!!!
