Photographer’s Note

A lot has been said about the Penan, the nomadic ethnic tribe generally found hunting and gathering in the Kelabit Highland. But regardless whatever has been said about them, the Penans are not much better off than before, whether they are resettled elsewhere or wherever they are now.

This family is on their way to their shelter in Bario before going back to their home village in the highland rainforest, 2 days jungle trekking away.
