Appenzell Fjord Photo

Photographer’s Note

At 1400 over sea level the Fälensee is one of the three main lakes of the Alpstein, it can be reached after a 2 1/2 hours hike from Brülisau. It is enclosed by mountains and only on one side a narrow trail allows to reach the Fälenalp, you see these barns in the far background.

This place gives the impression of being in the norwegian fjords region.

Bonjour Jean Yves,

C est un superbe paysage. Je ne connais pas du tout ce coin de la Suisse et c est une veritable invitation a venir le decouvrir.
J aime bien le rendu des couleurs assez saturé qui me rappelle beaucoup celui de la Velvia avec des verts 'petant' et des bleus denses. J aimais bien ce rendu dont je me suis un peu eloigné en passant en numerique. L avantage du format raw, c est que l on peut passer aisement d un type de rendu a un autre quand on veut.

La lumière, malgré sa dureté, permet de bien mettre en évidence cette vallée et ses couleurs.

Your shot has captured the clean, crisp atmosphere of this place very well. Wonderful view along the narrow path, and those small yellow flowers make a delightful entry point. Still a bit of snow around the rim of this 'basin', although if it's as hot in Switzerland as it is down here in Paris, I wonder how long it will remain. Those rocky walls probably protect it to a certain extent. Your shot brings out plenty of detail in the shadowy area on the left.

Le sentier guide notre régard vers les aiguilles et le ciel d'encre.

J'ai beau habiter la montagne, je ne me lasse jamais de ces merveilleux paysages. Ce petit lac dans lequel elle se reflète est très bien cadré, les tonalités sont profondes et belles, un très joli coin que tu as su parfaitement valoriser.

J'aimerai bien d'être à côté de ce joli lac de montagne pour apprécier sa fraîcheur avec la chaleur que l'on se coltine sur Versailles... Just fantastic picture with blues sky, melting snow and reflections, and the path leading in.
As you know th weather wasn't like this on my visit. On one day I came down from Hoher Kasten via Plattenbödeli to Brülisau. And on next one from Ebenalp to Wildkirchli and back, weather not looking promising for descent to Seealpsee. The route you suggested would have had too much climbing for me.

J'avais d'Appenzell , l'image d'un canton tout en colline verdoyantes . Il présente aussi des paysages très escarpés . Malgré l'altitude modeste , c'est un décor vraiment impressionant , et d'une grande beauté . la qualité remarquable de la photo nous le présente sous son meilleurs jour .

La netteté est incroyable, sur toute la profondeur de l'image. Le bleu de ciel me semble à peine soutenu. Mais en revanche j'aime beaucoup la fraicheur de la verdure sur les pentes.. Et effectivement on pourrait croire à un fjord!.

Excellent pov with the tiny path as a guide t lead towards the cleft of the valley.
