Photographer’s Note
Probably the fore mast of Statsraad Lehmkuhl, but just the starboard half, because my lens was not wide enough to catch it all!
This one goes with a previous picture showing trainees bracing the yards of that very mast, which is here.

Hello Emmanuel,
It is always a pleasure to come upon one of your photos when it has just been submitted. It's an extraordinarily good image from 1993. Just by chance I am wearing a knit navy and gold shirt that I apparently purchased in 2001 at the marina in Bergen, where I saw all the tall ships in port. The emblem on the shirt reads "2001 Antwerp, Bergen, Alesund, EsBjerg." It is a shirt that I had never worn before, but half as old as the image. In your photo, the effect of the red circular stack is very much like a chop mark on a Chinese scroll.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi Emmanuel,
I like the good graphism in this composition. Great perspective given by the cables and the mast. Good job!
Have a nice sunday

Bonjoue Emmanuel,

Belle capture.

The cables on top right make a very curious web. I do not know anything about boats but I think they are necessary to keep the mast up in position. The ventilation exhaust pipe adds another point of interest in here. Well done.

Dag Emmanuel,
In a gallery a red dot means that the artwork (painting, sculpture or picture) is already sold. When this picture was on a gallery, I wasn’t surprise if was another red dot on the red dot.
Well done. Sometimes it is alright that the lens isn’t wide enough.
Groet Rob
