Photographer’s Note

Ragusa Ibla is with its elegant baroque buildings a quarter of Ragusa, rich in charm and history. The earthquake in 1693 virtually razed to the ground, and Baroque palaces were reconstructed with projecting balconies supported by massive corbels carved by local craftsmen.
Only after 1926 Ragusa and Ragusa Ibla were reunited in the capital city of the province.

this famous town is one of the destinies I must see when I am retired and your photo is just confirming this! It is another fascinating impression you are adding to your excellent gallery! That's a good composition with a beautiful light and a dynamic sky. Actually it's the most beautiful general view on that city, here, on TE! The only thing I can complain about is that I hadn't heard about it before.

firstly what have you uploaded of panoramic version in TE?This can be larger version...But,i've what loved a lot,do you know...; these mashroom clouds on the historical city.real that,you'd taken at perfectly angle,also there are fabulous rhytms here.

Ciao Giorgione, Splendid view of this city on the hill. UIt looks fabulous, so dense built, all houses in one colour. Some interesting monuments can be seen. The photo has a bit old look. Wonderful light.

You found a great pov to deliver a comprehensive image of this nice city. Unlike other visitors I think though a D300 should deliver better quality images and I thnik you have a problem somewhere in your PP, I'd say when you reduce size and save as a JPG

Ragusa, I never went there but I eat it, no kidding, in Switzerland we had a chocolate snack called Ragusa in the 1970s. If it is still there I do not know, because since 1982 I work and live in Asia. Coming back to your very nice picture I like the sharpness and freshness of the colors a lot due to the - I guess - morning sun. Very well framed and executed, in particular the clouds look great. Well done

Un bello panorama di Ragusa (una città che non ho visto in Sicilia, non avevo abbastanza tempo, allora io hanno scelto di andare a Modica poiché adoro il cioccolato!!!).
Si riconosce l'influenza di G. clementi in questi colori che fanno pensare ad alcune incisioni vecchie.
È un bellissimo punto di vista sulla città.

I really like places with the houses behind each other on a steep hill or a mountain slope.

Back then, if they could find a hilltop, be sure they would settle there!
I guess they did this for a number of reasons, where defence purposes probably were the most important...
