Photographer’s Note
It was one of those beautiful days, the weather was warm but not hot. The sky was clear except at the horizon where the sun is about to dip into the Pacific Ocean. I was at this location to take some photos of the moon rising. But the sunset was trying hard to compete for my attention, radiating off its last rays of light through the clouds behind the palm trees and painted the sky with warm golden hue that faded slowly into the rich sapphire sky.
Just as I was in aw with such beauty surrounded me, I noticed a family, the parents and a girl of maybe 5 or 6. The girl wanted to go sit on the “big chair,” which is a lifeguard station. The mother said, “No Honey, the tide is high. You will get dirty and wet.” She didn’t protest, but she looked disappointed and pout just a little, but behaving herself. There is something about a daughter that touches a father’s soft spot in his heart. He took her hand and said, “Okay, let’s go up there!” Her face litted up follow with a big smile like a flower that just open up. He waited for the wave to recede, they ran quickly to the station and he lifted her up to the railing before the wave come up again, and there they are, sharing that magical tender moment. Feeling like king and princess of the day. A little girl’s wish granted, a father’s love made it come true.
for a few moments, I forgot about the sunset or the moon rise.
See workshop for a close up of a wish come true.

Congrats Way!!
Excelent Picture. Truly you have captured a magic moment.
In fact, I did not notice the life guard station until I read your note fully. The story line makes the picture more lovable.

Way,
This is a great sunset shot! The colors are fantastic and you managed to get the rays of the sun as well. The positioning of the palm trees and lifeguard tower is great allowing us to see the ocean and the wonderful colored sky on the other.
The story is great and so is your WS shot.

Hello Way,
This is such a lovely composition and a fine story to go with it, but in spite of all that, what I noticed before everything else were the soft but distict rays of the sun on the sky to the right.
Thanks for sharing,

Hi Way!
First, I like very much your title; second, your story captured me till the end with a good feeling, and third, your picture is elegant as your story, with beautiful hues, a good composition and these little clouds that add a lot of charm to the sunset. For the view on the father and daughter intimacy and their little adventure; I prefer the WS, but for the landscape, your main Pic is excellent. I don't know why but I imagine that the palm trees are like a theater curtain that open the scene...
Bravo!

Hello Way,
A nice photo going with a nice story. You got me with this one. Personnaly, I prefer this one to the one in WS: the strengh of the wide open landscape.
Nice composition with the trees and the gold line between 2 blue areas.
Yves.

Hi Way, what a beautiful story to go with this magnificent photo. The light here - particularly those rays, is spectacular. I knew you were out on the hunt for a moonrise, but you've brought us something even more special (not an easy thing to do). Congratulations and TFS, Lisa.

Hi Way,
The capture of the power of the sea is an asset to the composition. The presence of the people in the chair has an effect of scale. The point of view leads our eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the composition. The sunset is giving nice colors to the sky and the sea. Have a nice day.

Good morning, Way, or at least good morning for me! I am behind with my comments after some days not much on TE (which is sometimes essential but it is also great to come back). Beautiful picture, what a nice "seat" to see the sun go down ... or up again. I can imagine the little girl, we all wanted to be high up and sometimes had problems to come down again. Yes THESE moments, they are priceless. Wonderful text, wonderful colors, totally romantic. Have a great week, Barbara.

A beautiful picture...not only from the perspective of the natural beauty, but also for the tenderness it shows, as I read your mail! The stunningness of the shot takes a different meaning, an added meaning when we read your note. Thanks for sharing with us this wonderful story of our precious relationships with our children.

hello Way,
beautiful photo and beautiful note, nothing much to say about either of them. love how you have composed the photo, the rays of light seem to mimic the palm tree, or may be positive emotions radiating from the father and daughter. great work, my compliments.

Hello Way,
a very beautiful impression accompanied by a congenial note that I enjoyed reading a lot. Excellent management of the light and a wonderful atmosphere of the evening. There is only one thing that I would like to mention, it is the big chair that I would have liked to see not so much in FG. But this is a question of the tide I suppose. It is a great image anyway. The photo in WS is very touching! TFS!
Warm regards

Hi Way,
Always a pleasure to visit your gallery, especially after a while away! Finely presented shot. I love the strong yet natural colours and perfect sharpness you've achieved. The rays of the sun streaking across the frame from the right look great. Your great story with the photo gives the father and daughter meaning in the photo and I appreciate that.
Fine shot as always
all the best
Lee
PS - I should be settled down by about January if all goes to plan - In New Zealand this time. I'll be using TE properly again when I manage it - but until then I can only post sporadically. I've loads of good photos to upload from the recent travels though. :) - Take care

Hello Way -
Outstanding image! From the thumb I expected an exotic location only to discover it was LA (ugh). I like the sun rays and combined with the golden tones of last light. These two elements make the scene IMO. Well done!
Thank you for sharing.

Dear Way,
It is simply wonderful... the problem when you are absent during a few weeks is that when you come back on a gallery like yours, full of beautiful photos, you simply don't know where to start! Thank you for calling my attention to this superb photo!
My preference is for the closer view as a WS. A beautiful answer to my theme 'Love is...'
Direct to my favourites:-)
Thanks, Marianne
