Photographer’s Note
At 1520m Meglisalp is a summer only (end of may to september) village that can be reached only after a 3 hours long steep ascent from Wasserauen. It is situated right in the heart of the Alpstein and as you can see even mid june snow is not far away.
The main point of interest is its Berggasthaus that gets plenty of tired and thirsty visitors during the whole summer, the little church and the summer houses and barns give the impression it's a "normal" village.

Hi Jean Yves,
There is certainly a long and winding road for this lonely hiker. The road lead the eye effectively into the picture and up to the distant village. There are some very small red details, the rucksack and the flaf at the hotel. I am quite certain that the hiker anticipates a cold beer, when he finally reaches his goal!
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hello Jean Yves,
A stunning setting for this resort, and the hike there seem short. Good perspective with the hiker approaching on the trail. The colours are bright and details stand out very well. Thanks Jean Yves :-)

Bonjour Jean Yves,
Yves.

Hi JY,
again a well framed picture. Without the hiker in the FG it would look like a painting from the old times.
The "good old times" were very hard for the people in the mountains.

all is lovely here, the deep perspective, the slope and creme de la creme: tiny figure.

Hi Jean Yves,
Very interesting this small "summer" town, a support for those who like long walks on the mountain. Excellent image, the POV and the trail give a sense of acclivity and depth. Nice colors and great details.

Hello Jean Yves,
What a beautiful place! Amazing how they have a small village in the middle of nowhere on top of a mountain...that's what I love about Switzerland. Great POV with amazing depth, good colours and beautiful details. The person on the trail makes this photo complete! Great work!

Hi Jean-Yves,
Excellent framing. Curving path leads from bottom right to the destination. The hiker is well placed on the way to rest and refreshments. And alpine flowers add colour to landscape.

Hi Jean Yves, I like this as it has a single walker well positioned on this curving path. It draws the viewer into the scene well. The mix of rocks among the grassy pathes is very appealing. TFS. Murray.

This is so beautiful, the tight composition the path leading to the picturesque little village and the man walking on it, make a superb photo. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Jean-Yves!
That's another magnificent picture! A great idea! An outstanding photo job!
Even without all the snow that's probably all around that place in wintertime, it looks quite inviting to me that way!
Vertical format, pov and composition are real highlights in this photo! The man that walks up towards that village was captured in the best moment! Sharpness, exposure and natural colors are excellent too!
Interesting note!
TFS - congratulations!

Hello Jean Yves,
This is an interesting place, located in this remote corner of the mountains!
I notice the church and wonder where the parish lives hehehe...
The path makes a fine lead-in composition wise, with the person to show this is trekking only..!

Hi Jean Yves
Great view of this tiny winter village. I'm sure the views looking the other way were worth the 3 hour trek and the wildflowers through the alpine meadows would be very pretty. Great composition of course, with teh eye following teh trail to the village.

Un point de vue que je croyais descendant en "thumbnail" mais que je comprends maintenant être ascendant à la lecture de ta note. En tout état de cause, il donne une excellente idée de différence de niveau et le petit marcheur sur la route est parfait pour donner l'échelle.
Bien cordialement,

Hello Pixel !
Really a nice perspective. It reminds me the way I used to draw the school when I was a child: a long road like this and the door of the building at the end.
Who knows why ! I like the lonely hiker in this very suggestive landscape.

Hello Jean Yves
The meandering path takes the eye to the village beyond. The vertical format works well in that it emphasises the height and the distance. Tfs, Marlene
