Photographer’s Note
I am back to town from my little sunny quiet rest in the countryside... and now it's raining...
I thought long what to choose for this photo which also happens my 300th post on TE. And I ended up with this one.
When I began to think of a title for the photo, suddenly I remembered the movie "E la nave va" ("And the Ship Sails On"), a 1983 Italian movie by Federico Fellini.
With this photo I also want to thank all those, especially my TE friends, who expressed their opinion about my work and whose photos, as well as their advice and ideas, have helped me a lot to look at the world from another angle :)
This photo was taken at Fjäderholmarna.
You can take a look at my other photos taken at Fjäderholmen: here and here.
Fjäderholmarna is part of Greater Stockholm and is one of closest islands of the Baltic Sea archipelago, between Nacka and Lidingö.
The ship is NCL Norwegian Jewel.
Gross Tonnage: 92,000
Length: 965 feet
Cruise Speed: 25 knots
Guest Capacity: 2,376
Crew: 800
Detailed information about the ship and the cruises can be found on this website.
In the Workshop: one more photo of the ship, taken from the distance.

Hi Elena,
Congratulations on #300!
People enjoying weather and view make a good combination with the big cruise ship. Quite vibrant painting on the side and the name is well placed.
I wondered if the front should be visible, but this goes better with the title.
You may want to add this to this theme.

Hello Elena,
My warm congratulations on your little jubilee, especially for making it with such a fine composition. The picture is very attractively divided diagonally in two distinctly different halves. The contrast between them is magnificent. I guess they didn't spread any ashes from the Norwegian jewel, like they did in the Fellini movie.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Elena
and congratulations to #300! I notice that more than half of these pictures are from Sweden! This is a good combination, a Norwegian ship in the Stockholm archipelago. Good colours even if I don´t really like those boat decorations. But nice to see the apparent interest and curiosity of the spectators on the shore. Also to see all the passengers on the boat study the people on the shore...
Kind regards

Hi Elena,
congratulation on the occasion of this impressive milestone! And thanks for sharing a wonderful impression of this typical Swedish skerry coast that is – as always - accompanied by a very nice and contemplative note. You have chosen a very well working POV on this nice summer scene. My compliments!
Warm regards
Harriet

dear Elena,
"E la nave va" is the impressive cinema indeed.
starting is B&W, and ending is with the rhinoceros,
and I like the glass music scene, it is excellent.
anyway,
this boat looks being foreground of all,
maybe because it is vivid and clear.
and a boy watching it is very strange in these situation.
those are very suggestive that you are on the ship of long or short voyage...
(it includes starting and ending) and us too.
congratulations on your 300th posting on it.
thank you,
Akihisa

Hello Elena,
Congratulations with your 300th post.
Very nice how you captured this big ship manoeuvring between the rocks of the islands or peninsulas.
Beautiful colours and good composition.
I had once similar views in the neighbourhood of Helsinki.
Best regards, Paul

Congratulations Elena on number 300 - a photo of unusual contrasts. The huge ship seems to be headed straight into the little tree! Quite an event with people watching each other. Well done and tfs, Marlene

Hello Fanni,
congratulations for your 300th post!
I haven't yet arrived at that, perhaps because my activity in TE is so slow!
Good title for a fine photo. Thanks to the tele lens the ship seems to crash against the rocks (by the way an event that really happened with a ferry here some years ago!) and its huge and colourful hull contrasts with the tiny persons and tree. The image is very bright and alive and actually reminds of summer vacations.
Well done,
Donato

Hello elena. Have you got the travel bug? The ferry like also the Norwegian Jewel are a eyecatcher of first class. The people on the bank regard the proud ships. A really very highly detailed photo. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Privet Elena,
Very well framed, captured at the perfect moment. A boy watching la nava plays a very important role. If the sky was blue, the seagull would be a nice accent. Excellent shot!
Best wishes, Hisashi

Elena, I like it, this is a really fine shot though it doesn't show that well as a thumbnail I think. I like the close crop on the ship where we see enough to know it is huge but not all of it, then the people on deck and the people on the rocks scale it wonderfully, very clever composition, great work.

Hello Elena,
A three hundredth photo of most original… I understand why it is called jewel this boat of cruising. I like much your choice of catch of sight, that give a very interesting visual effect and make the ship even more imposing, I find. The colors and the management of the light are superb. Pretty glance and thank you for the photograph in WS which enables us to admire it in entirety.
With all my friendships and a very good WE,
Jean-Charles
