Photographer’s Note

The well sheltered harbor of Port de Pollença is situated near the northeastern tip of Mallorca. It has developed as a pleasant tourist resort. As with other ports on Mallorca, to protect historically against invaders the main town of Pollença is inland, in this case about 4 km.

It seems you chose to photograph exactly what I'd have done myself! (:-) Harbours and marinas are my favorite spots... This image is enchanting with its almost one colour and its evening soft atmosphere. The best feature, I think, it's the silhouette of the promontory with the mountains in the bg which divides the photogram in 1/3 - 2/3. and the anchored boats are fine focal points. It's a quiet magic hour when you are moored in a safe harbour and resting before a good meal. now I know why so many boaters go to Baleari Islands.

Hello William,

The stunning atmosphere is well recorded!
What is catching attention is the contrast between the boats and the hazy seaside landscape, and the pin sharp details in the vessels gives a great feeling of depth to the scene...
All over a great mood in what I assume is the end of a hot day, if anything should be changed I'd look at the boat to the right as it doesn't quite fit in the setting - but that is my view only!

Spain looks so pretty though I've never been. One day I will, it just so many places so little time.
This is a very successful shot. Even in this hazy back light. Excellent depth of field, with the foreground boats in good sharpness and focus to anchor and draw the viewers in and it gradually gets lighter with each successive layer of elements. Good placement of the horizon where the water meets the land. I love the silver string of water patterns and the beautiful reflection. The colors are subdue and moody. The over all calm and quiet scenery give a great essence of peace and tranquility. Really good one here William. And I like you leave just enough space top and bottom to allow a bit of space above the mountain and on the water not cutting into the reflection of the boats. Have a good day.

Soft light truly pleases! Thge symmetrical reflection with the boats is very attractive! Sharp or misty silhouettes are real highlights in this beautiful image!

I really like all the layers you have framed here: the full reflrction of the masts, the boats, the jetty and the fog against this mountains. Good job capturin g the fog too, it's not always easy.

Hi William,
I like this almost monochromic picture. It's a very relaxing scene with light riddles stretched boat mast reflections of the water surface. You nicely composed your pic. The eye is led by an an imaginary electrocardiogram line through the moutaines and boats shapes.
Lovely soft tones, good sharpness...well a GOOD ONE ;)
