Photographer’s Note

Mylopotamos,the unknown side.

reaching somebody in one enormous plateau that is useful for parking, and descending in order to goes to the beach of Mylopotamos,on the right sees this small pebble beach with the small church that take place marriages and the sacrament of baptism.

General,Mylopotamos beach consists from sand and pebbles and the area where belongs is a famous,touristic resort in Greece. In the whole beach area isn’t organized any noisy activity like sport facilities except car, bike and bicycles rental which is useful for the visitors. Behind the beach are located some small hotels and rental rooms. The length of the beach is 200m, the width is 25m, the type of the trees are plane trees, the type of the bushes are arctus, but the most of times the forest touches the sea. The best way to the beach is using stair steps or through foot paths.

Μυλοπόταμος,η άγνωστη πλευρά.

φτάνοντας κάποιος σε ενα τεράστιο πλατο που χρησιμεύει για παρκινγ,και κατηφορίζοντας για να πάει στην παραλία του Μυλοπόταμου, βλέπει στα δεξιά του, αυτή την μικρή βοτσαλένια παραλία με το μικρό εκκλησάκι που γίνονται γάμοι και βαπτήσεις.

Γενικά η παραλία του Μυλοποτάμου είναιίσως η πιο ξακουστή και πολυφωτογραφημένη παραλία του Πηλίου, η οποία, λαξευμένη στον βράχο, έχει μια ξεχωριστή προσωπικότητα άγριας και αγέρωχης καλλονής. Ένα μπάνιο στον Μυλοπόταμο είναι επιβεβλημένο, διότι θα είναι ευκαιρία όχι μόνο για χαλάρωση και δρόσισμα σε ένα πανέμορφο περιβάλλον αλλά και για την απόλαυση φρέσκου ψαριού και καλού κρασιού με θέα το πράσινο του βουνού και το γαλάζιο του πελάγους.

Kalimera Danos,

remember that parking area above Mylopotamos beach..had also a look down there, before walking on to the beach (a great one in my opinion..!), isnt´there also a taverna with a balcony beside that point you´ve done your picture??

Dano kalimera.
On n'est pas habitué à un tel paysage pour la Grèce. Il reste que la photo est très belle avec un ciel nuageux et cette petite plage sauvage.

The use of a tripod and of an exposure speed of 1/15 seconds is giving a nice image showing a good clarity and sharpness. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the scenery. Hello Danos,

I'm amazed at the variety of landscapes Geece has.
Here, maybe for the hour, maybe for your skill, the place seems a bit like Brittany in France.
I like the dark clouds with the pink light in the distance and the intense and dramatic colours that create a very fine atmosphere. This is a good example of how to exploit in the best way the bad weather!
A very fine and intense composition.

I came back from Naxos yesterday. I spent a wonderful stay on the island which is beautiful. I walked a lot on paths!
I thank you for your very useful informations. I hope that you had no problems with the fires last week. I saw from the plane the big burned areas.
Very beautiful photo of Milipotamos, very original with this POV and the extraordinary colors. We believe to be in autumn. The pink in the bottom gives a very big depth. I also like very much the view on the stone roof so typical of Pelion.

Hi Danos, this is not normally what I would think of as Greece, with the lovely muted tones. But I suppose even sunny Greece must have a twilight and pre-dawn. The image is nice and sharp, I like the high POV ahnd the rocks in the FG really give us that sense of height. Nice job, Lisa.

I see even in Greece you have sometimes clouds on the summer sky :)
Well for enjoying the place they don't help but in your fantastic shot they look really great.
The whole composition is beautiful. I like having some foreground in the left, and an element of architecture, and finally of course this pretty hidden beach.
