Photographer’s Note

This is the southern view (tight one) of Vancouver from the Lookout Tower at Harbour Centre. It's a stitching of 9 shots (f/6.3, different exposures). A larger version is available.

The Vancouver Lookout tops Harbour Centre, a towering complex that is home to 28 floors of offices, the downtown campus of Simon Fraser University, shops, a food fair and liquor store, and the Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant. American astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, opened the Vancouver Lookout in 1977.
Situated high above Vancouver, the Lookout is the perfect first stop for visitors and locals alike and provides a bird’s eye view of the City. Glass elevators whisk visitors 130 meters (430 feet) skyward from street level to the Observation Deck in a mere 40 seconds. Here you will enjoy a 360º view of Metro Vancouver’s cosmopolitan downtown and the suburbs beyond, the vast Pacific Ocean, bustling Coal Harbour, and the majestic North Shore Mountains.

L'imponente taglio verticale e la visione dall'alto dei grattacieli hanno un impatto molto forte su chi guarda la scena.
Colori caldi e perfetta definizione completano al meglio la composizione.

que bela imagem vertical aproveitando muito bem a luminosidade do sol que praticamente não fez sombras marcantes nos edifícios mostrando bem sua arquitetura e detalhes.

Seu trabalho com a montagem ficou tão boa que não parece uma montagem!

Já na versão menor me agrada, na versão maior, então, nossa, que maravilha!
Ponto de vista excelente e composição muito bem sucedida, com um resultado visual impressionante! Nitidez, exposição, profundidade e cores naturais estão demais! Um trabalho de mestre, com certeza!
Não sei se dará para ir até Vancouver, mas estou planejando uma viagem (a 1ª) ao Canadá para o ano que vem!

Hello Carlos,

Technically flawless, engaging and informative, especially with the well written note. I was in Vancouver briefly in 1977. The tower must have been in its last stages of completion, or already christened. Excellent shot.

Hi Carlos: Interesting super tall frame of this vibrant city with the dome contrasting well against the squarish buildings. The sky that is very far in this picture looks moody but the building shows strong pleasing highlights. I like it and well done. Jusni
