Photographer’s Note
I was lucky to be asked to take some pictures during a friends wedding. This is my favorite picture because it is such an eternal scene. While the clothing has probably changed over the last 800-900 years, since the church was built, I would guess the ceremony is relatively the same. For some reason, I find that very comforting.

Hello Kate.
This black and white is truly magical.
I like the expression of the priest, the painting on the background, the well-exposed dresses.
Kind regards.
Bobo.

Hej Kate,
this is the most beautiful image of a wedding I have seen for a long time and your friend is a lucky person! It is a very touching impression and I love how the priest and the couple are mirroring the biblical scene on the altarpiece. Really an eternal scene and excellently captured. Congratulation!
Warm regards

Hello Kate,
I like this juxtaposition of the "real" people and the people painted in the picture. I also appreciate your choice of colour gamma which, imho, suits the situation best!
Everything changes, especially clothes... but maybe also the ceremony itself because for many people its original meaning is either very vague or is lost.
Warm regards,
Elena

hello Kate,
This is a superb shot, with an element of the timeless in both the composition, and the b&w treatment. There is even a silvery glow in the image, evocative of the dark room treatment of silver halide emulsion. The young couple, the priest in the 17th century Dutch collar, and the altar piece as a backdrop lends the scene depth in space and time. You were indeed fortunate to be asked to take photographs here. It reminds me of one of my favorite scenes that I happened on by accident, but fortunately with a camera in hand. I submitted as "Shooting a Renaissance Master". Thanks for sharing this superb photo with us.
Greetings from Virginia,
Bulent
