Photographer’s Note
On the morning that I arrived at Lake Louise I also came up to this lake for sunrise photography. According to plan and on time the little hike to the rock climb platform I was surprised to find a couple of photographers already setup to capture some HD video captures of this lake. I noticed that they decided to talk about technical equipment while I was busy capturing my selection of photos. I think they missed the stillness of the water as the morning breeze picked up.
My goal was to capture the sunlight reflections of the peaks while the sun rose behind me. Down below on a lower level a man stood for the longest time taking in the moment. I thought his addition would make the setting complete. There are a number of locations to choose from but I thought this man and the lonely tree on the left would make this photo a memorable 700th posting.
The bus loads of tourists made their way to this location with ooohs and aaahs upon this glorious sight. Many with their little digital cameras none took the time to use a tripod which in my mind is the only way for a decent capture. Of the many places I have been to photograph this lake is perhaps one of the most beautiful places in the rocky mountains. Enjoy.

Hello Paul,
I never been there, but I agree with you it seems to be a very beautiful place. This picture is perfect, the reflection is great. And very good composition with lonely man and lonely tree.

Hello Paul! It is the man with his rucksack, yes for me he makes the picture perfect. It makes the connectin to hiking, to the outdoors, I love how he stands there with his hat, overhelmed by the beauty of this place. Oh bus loads, yes they are everywhere or you take another lake, this is what I do, on the other hand I would love to see this lake myself so I guess I have to put up with them, or am I one of them ... LOL. Great photo for no. 700 .. wow this is an impessive no. ... congratulations ... Barbara.

Hello Paul,
A wonderful view of the lake, this time not in brilliant emerald colours, but in soft grey and blue tones. A beautiful composition with the man perfectly positioned to give depth and to include an eye catching detail.
Keep posting!

Paul

Hi Paul,
I love Morraine Lake, and your capture is worthy of note. I very much like your point of view and the colors, clarity, and crisp sharpness of the stillness this morning is stunning. I like the inclusion of the viewer below your vantage point. Very well done and TFS - and congratulations on your 700th. Gerald

Hi Paul
Desite the numerous version of this famous place posted in TE, this one is not ordinary. The pov is slightly different (taken from higher on the rocks) and the morning light adds something.
Bravo

Hi Paul:
Moraine Lake is actually in Alberta, though it's right on the border with BC. There is a lot that I really like about this shot. First, the inclusion of the person near the bottom of the frame is genius--don't know if it was intentional, but it's great because it gives such a sense of scale. It's hard to get a feel for how massive these mountains are until you've actually been there--I remember being blown away.
Another thing that's great is the composition in general, and then of course that fantastic and near-perfect reflection. Here's my only complaint--the picture is very dull color-wise, with a distinct blue-green color cast (and I'm not just talking about the water, haha). It almost seems like it's been overworked in PS. It may just be my monitor, but that's my take on it.
But otherwise, such a great shot, and well worth posting. Thanks for sharing--makes me wish I were in Alberta right now.

Hi Paul,
Great shot. Very well composed. You put lot of effort for good shot. Looks like you did some traveling this summer. As they say in my old country "voyages make you more educated"

Hello Paul,
This is a beautifully composed shot of the famous lake. I can see why the tourists were awed by the dramatic scene. The presence of the man on the rocks adds a human touch as well as scale. Warm regards, Paul.

Hello Paul
Congratulations on your 700th! Good reflections & shadow details. The road in was closed for maintenance last October so I missed this spectacular view. The person in the fg adds scale. Tfs!

Hello Paul,
Congratulations with your 7OOth post on TE !
Very impressive landscape and great reflections of the mountains and the forest in the lake but what I like the most is that man with his big hat exactly on the right place on the picture, almost like a sihouette in front of the blue water.
Best regards, Paul
